Somone asked about 'becoming emotionless'?!

Question: Somone asked about 'becoming emotionless'!?
And someone repleid with:

'Imagine the death of the person who means most to you!. Try to see your own reaction to it!. If you have a reaction, great! You're normal, nothing to worry about!.'

And well, i imagined my dad phoning me and telling me my mum had died in a car crash, and i felt!.!.!.!.!. nothing!.

I was thinking, wouldn't that be the normal reaction, cuz when somone dies, you don't go into sadness straight away, do you!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

tbh feeling emotionless happens to all people at some point, asking someone to imagine a death is ridiculous!.!.!.

my dad died suddenly and i never expected to feel the way i did at the time at all!!.!. u can't imagine it!.!. its unimaginable!.!.!. upset, sad, devastated, confused!.!.!. it was a very over emotional time

No one is ever emotionless, they may be quite reserved with their emotion, but that's normal also!.!. sometimes i am very unresponsive, sometimes i am very emotional!.!. it all changes depending on what ur situation is

to feel like u feel nothing is normal, but when u do feel something good and you look back you'll prob realise that u were actually quite sad at the time, and that was ur way of handling it

just my thoughts on the matter :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

i asked that question :P

anyway ealier today befor i asked this question, My mum phoned n sed she nearly crashed today, and i thoght what if she had of and you no passed away, and i cried alot then and even thinkin of somert like that hurt me!.

but people deal with emotions differently, thinkin somert like you did wudnt or wud make a person cry staight away, it depends!. its just a part of growin up!. i watch sad movies and feel nothin!.

i don't know becoz it's never happened to me but i'd imagine you'd first go into shock and disbelief!. I think it's a hard thing to do tho, imagining someone has died and your reaction, often we think we'll react one way in a situation then when that situation arises we react in a totally different way tohow we thought we would!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

imagining it and experiencing it are two completely different things!. You can't fully express your feelings if you are only imagining it!.

For example if you are with someone for a long time and you think it wouldn't bother me if we broke up - in reality if you did break up you would be gutted - get my drift!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
