I have been diagnosed with ADHD about 4 years ago, and it was mostly decided from my lack of ability to sit still and focus in on things that didn't interest me!. I was put on several medications which increased my ability to zone out noises and focus more on the work i was distracted from!. However medicine cant do anything to make you remember more your own personal effort is needed like studying and taking notes, and getting frustrated easily is common for people who just don't get the work, but practice makes perfect!. If the medicine does however make you able to focus on things with ease, you may feel more confident with hard tasks and be able to acomplish them easier then without medicine!. Also ADHD means attention deficit hyperactivity disorder basically its different from ADD which just means attention deficit disorder but does not come with hyperactivity!. Hope this helped a bit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ADHD - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
ADD - Attention Deficit Disorder

!.!.So it's basically the same thing!. Males are affected by it more than females!. About the medication: Yes, that is it's purpose!. However, there are 2 types of meds for ADHD
-non-stimulants
-amphetamines(known to cause some health problems to kids)
Funny thing about the ADHD is that 85% of the people in jail are having it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I've been diagnosed with ADHD, I'm not really sure what the difference is between the two, I always thought they were the same thing!. The meds make you do better in school and whatnot, without you even realizing it!. I went from straight F's and D's to A's and B's and the occasional C!. So yeh they do make you pay attention a lot more!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't!. You could go to your guidance counselor and ask if the school psychiatrist can test you for it, it may be something that mom has to agree to, but you do have the right to know!. ADD is without the hyperactivity that ADHD, people with ADHD-pretty much know when they have it!. My son has ADD and he does fine without medication-he didn't like it and I wasn't going to force it!. You can learn strategies for dealing with ADD/ADHD!. Math is typically hard for kids with that, my son has to doodle to get through boring subjects-basically the other side of his brain has to be working so that the more logical portion doesn't get bord!. He has a high IQ, but has hard time in Math!. Most of these kids have high IQs!. Still, consider asking your school for help or have your mom take you to the doctor to see if you can be evaluated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
