Anyone can get depression, including young children!.Is there a counsellor at school or a clergyman at your church that you can talk to!? Depression is serious, and recognizing that you have it is a very important first step!. Check with the Health Dept where you live, they might give you a referral to a therapist!. If your whole family is under stress, why not have a family meeting and suggest that everyone go to family counselling!? Admitting that there is a problem is not a sign of weakness, we are all human and no one person has all the answers, but when we pull together, we can accomplish a whole lot!.We need each other to survive!.If your family won't do it, by all means do not use this as a reason for you to not go!. Maybe, when they see you doing better, they will want to go!. I pray God gives you the courage to do what is right for you!.Until then, have you tried journalling, or listening to inspirational speakers, or reading the Bible, or biographies of people who have overcome adversity!?Knowing that someone else was in a bad way and was victorious helps a lot!.You can e-mail me if you need to vent, or you need an ear!. Read "Gifted Hands" by Dr Ben Carson, seriously, it will help!. God loves you, and God Bless youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Depression is common among teenager!. Usually the depression is minor and it passes without the need for intervention!. If you have a major depression you will probably know it and so will your parents!. You can bring yourself out of a minor funk once you recognize that you have a problem!. You really need to get active in the sorts of activities that you enjoy!. In other words, get out and have a little fun!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Young teens can have depression just as adults can!. I understand you don't want to worry your parents, but you need to find an trusted adult to talk to about this!. Maybe a counselor at school or a friend's parent, a coach, a teacher, etc!. Depression is easily treated with therapy/counseling!. You don't necessarily have depression, but you should try to get to the source of what is bothering you!. Best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have worked with kids as young as 7 &8 with clinical depression!. It has nothing to do with being sad, it's a chemical imbalance in the brain!. You will need to tell your parents at some point if you need treatment!. But for now I would suggest going to your school counselor and go over what is going on with you and how you're feeling!. That way you'll have more specifics before you have to talk to them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
