Cutting, what should i do?!

Question: Cutting, what should i do!?
i live in australia and its rolling round into summer now i go to school where we wear uniforms and in a couple of weeks our uniform changes to short sleeves, im quite pale and i have 2 straight scars (one quite large) on the inside of my arm and im not sure what to tell people if they ask, i wont be able to cover it up as we're not allowed to wear jewellery and it'll be even more obvious if i'm wearing a sweater cause it gets way too hot

also my parents don't know i cut and in 2 weeks we're going on holidays to fiji there's no way to cover it up what should i do!?

(i just started seeing a psychologist but i've only been once so far and my mum was in the session so i couldnt tell her about my self-harm) Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I agree with the other people you do need to tell someone about te cutting!. Start with your therapist and she should be able to give you some advice on how to tell your mom about the SI!.

As for school if someone asks about the scars you could say that you had an accident of some sort!.!.!. umm I went to a public school and it was always cold inside so I was able to hide my cuts!. So I don't know how to explain marks really!.!.!. once at a job one of my co workers saw and she asked if my cat scratched me!.!.!. I just went with it!. I hope this helps some!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The cat excuse has worked for me a few times when I slipped up and cut my arms!. If anyone asks, say that and until you're ready to tell your mom try to fly that by her!.

Since you're already seeing a psychologist, I'm sure you will tell your doctor!. That is what they are there for!. Tell your mom when you're ready!. She may not understand right away and the whole process is about you healing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they'll find out sooner or later, you need to talk to them so they can help you threw it, your mom can also talk to the people at the school and i'm sure they would allow you to wear long sleeved shirts if it will help you focus more on your studies and less on your problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My aunt is a cutter too!. Her arms are so scratched up that you can't make out individual scratches!. There is no way to hide it and she's embarrassed now that she is passed that point in her life!. Is there any other way to take out your aggression besides life long scarring!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

you know u need to tell ur mam!.!. you will have to anyway soon!. so go and be brave and tackle ur problem if u dont things will only steamroll from here!. im in Australia too and if u need to talk email meWww@Answer-Health@Com

You should probably talk to your therapist instead of Yahoo! Answers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you need to tell your mom and get helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

talk to your therapist if your not comfortable talking to your mum yet!. see if your therapist has any ideas of how to tell your mum because she really needs to know!. keeping it hidden isnt doing anything good for you, its just dragging you down!. my sister used to do this heaps and she hid it until we found out!. we tried everything we could to help her and am still trying!. the best thing is to open your mouth and tell someone, trust me, otherwise you just get in deeper and deeper and it will turn into a viscious circle if it hasnt already!. xoxo
