Wow!. That's a doozy!. Haldol has been the 800 pound gorilla in the schizophrenia land for the last fifty or so years!. It's so potent, useful and impressive that agitated schizophrenics were jokingly referred to as having a "Vitamin H" deficiency for many years!. That's how much utility it has, and how well it worked for many years!. It's very sedating, very powerful and it's got a load of side effects you could bury a small continent in!. However - it does work!.
This is not a medication you should go on because of financial reasons!. This is a medication you should go on because nothing else is working!. Haldol is one of the last stops for schizophrenia!. It should not be your first stop!. These meds save lives by the boatload, but they are not fun to take!.
I do not know what exactly your symptoms are, what kind of relief you need or what you're diagnosed with, but I would encourage you to explore other alternatives by any means necessary!. Every pharma manufacturer on the planet has programs to get low/no cost meds to people who can't afford them!. Yahoo Answers isn't the greatest place for this sort of info, so take a look on over at the forums at http://www!.crazymeds!.us/ Their forums list internet applications, databases etc of virtually every med assistance program, their site lists virtually all the psychiatric medications!. A good place to start in medications of this sort is Risperdal/risperidone!. It's just gone generic, so it's cheaper but the generic is new and still somewhat expensive!.

I had some symptoms from haldol, but they can give you cogentin which is also an old drug that should be sold as a generic at walmart!. It messed with my vision and I had to wear reading glasses, but that was all with cogentin!. Haldol can make you twitch, and grind or clinch your teeth, which is annoying, but tolerable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
