I feel depressed, should I spend money on therapy?!

Question: I feel depressed, should I spend money on therapy!?
For about 5 years I have not felt truely happy!. I have shut myself out from everyone, i do not talk much!. I used to be able to talk with no problem!. Ever since i shut everyone out tho, i find myself trying to find something to talk about but never do, resulting in very few friends!.
I found myself crying everyday!. But now it has gotten to the point where I just dont care anymore!. I hold everything back!. I want to cry, but i dont!. Everything ive ever known about me has changed!. I dont know who i am anymore!. Its just so hard to explain!
I feel confused all the time!. The smallest comments, even if they were not meant to hurt me, end up bringing me down!. I've hit rock bottom with my confidence!. I feel worthless!.
I talked to my school counseler about this and she ended up giving up on me!. Which made me feel even worse about myself!.!. like there was no hope!. I just want to be able to hold a conversation, that would help some!.
I just want the pain to go away!.
Do I need therapy, or pills, or what!? I just cant take it anymore!.!. I need some help before this gets any worse!.!. if it can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes - seek help from a doctor or licensed mental health professional!. If its an ongoing problem, which it sounds like it is, rather than a reaction to a specific life crises, you may very well need medication to help bring you out of the "funk"!.

Medication can work wonders for people with depression!. Therapy in conjunction can help you think about your situation differently and learn skills to help you live a happier daily life!.

I recommend seeing a mental health professional, but at the very least, talk to your regular doctor!. He or she can prescribe you something until you are able to get in to see a psychiatrist or psychologist/therapist!.

You'd be amazed by the highly successful, happy, "normal" people that see therapists and are on medication!. There is nothing wrong with seeking help!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may have to see someone!. You might have a chemical imbalance--which happens to sufferers for no apparent reason!. They can be so active and happy, then suddenly!.!.!.something is unfullfilled!.
I think you should look into finding a doctor so that they can determine whether it's an imbalance or something else personal!. Best wishes to you---I really hope you get betterWww@Answer-Health@Com

I also feel many of the same feelings, I believe that medication does not solve many of the feelings!. Exercises and proper rest ( not too much), try changing your habits or joining a service club, There are many people to talk with and at the same time filling some of your day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

try exercise first, especially yoga or aikido!. try 1 hour per day of exercise!. if that does not work then maybe try a counselor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should go see your doctor to get some meds!. Although I think you should try first therapy and then they will tell you whats actually wrong!. Some therapist can prescribe you some meds so get checked out!.

Take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is a very wise investment!.

OKAY!.!.!. feeling this way has gotten you WHERE!? No where!. Take a look at yourself, go forward!. Stop dwelling on the past and MOVE ON!. This is the problem with people!. They sit and think too much of the negative, and totally forget about the positive!. Turn yourself around!. Make the most of what, who, and how you are!. You are only hurting yourself by the way you are acting!. I don't know your situation, but I can assure you that my story is five hundred times worse than yours!. Cheer up, and move on!. Things will turn around once YOU make them!. You are the company you keep!. Change, and things around you will!. Hope I helped at least a small amountWww@Answer-Health@Com

There are many things you can do to help treat your depression!.
Moderate exercise for at least 20 - 30 minutes, daily, and up to an hour!. Brisk walking is good, and try to be mindful of the feeling your foot makes as it hits the ground: it is a relaxation technique!. Also use daily, one of the relaxation methods in sections 2, 2!.c, 2!.i, or 11, and/or yoga, Tai Chi, and/or the EFT, in sections 2!.q, 2!.o, and section 53, at http://www!.ezy-build!.net!.nz/~shaneris whichever works best for you!.

Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or grapefruit, or their FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice!. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it!. Also take a vitamin B complex which is certified as being 100% of natural origin; a deficiency in vitamin B9 (folic acid, or folate) is known to cause depression!. Around 30% - 40% of depressed people have low vitamin B12 levels!. Depressed females using the contraceptive pill may benefit from vitamin B6 supplements!.

Occupational therapy (keeping busy allows little time for unproductive introspection, and keeps mental activity out of less desirable areas of the brain)!. As options, if desired, either a known, effective herbal remedy, such as St!. John's wort, (the strength varies, but the supplier should be using a standardised hypericin content, so follow the directions) or supplements, such as SAMe, or Inositol (from vitamin and health food stores, some supermarkets, or mail order: view section 55 at ezy-build )!.

Initially, at least, some form of counselling, preferably either Cognitive Behavio(u)ral Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavio(u)ral Therapy!. Co-counselling is shown in the first 3 pages of section 2, or online therapy, or even talking with someone you feel comfortable with, and a much more detailed post is on page R!. Also view young women's depression, and page V!.

If the above is insufficient for you, after several months, (unlikely) try one of the alternatives, such as the neurofeedback, magnetic, or low current electrical stimulation, or EMDR therapy, (see section 33, at ezy build) keeping ECT back, as a last resort!. Read: "Lift your mood now!." by John D Preston, Psy!.D!. 2001, New Harbinger Publications, Inc!., 5674 Shattuck Avenue, Oakland!. CA 94609 http://www!.amazon!.com/ may be worth trying for this!. I have read many books on depression, but if there is a better, more easily read, and one which is easier to implement quickly, I haven't yet found it!. Also any depression books by Hyla Cass, MD (brilliant on female depression)!. If you are a vegetarian, synthetic Omega 3 is available through one of the links in section 55!. See www!.fishoilblog!.comWww@Answer-Health@Com
