Sounds like a question of ethics, good or bad!? Depends on your outlook, diagnosis or situation!. I have friends that swear by it on low doses ( for mild depression/stress or premenstrual dysmorphic disorder, basically PMS)!. It evens your moods, less extreme downs and stress!.

If you want a miracle or it to change your life, you would be out of luck!. Many people expect miracles from it and are sorely disappointed, or don't take it long enough to get a therapeutic blood level!. You really need to be on it for about a month, to evaluate its effect on yourself!.

I had a discussion with a neurologist (brain doctor) and his outlook was that it decreases stress and depression moderately in people, and over the long term, less of those downs and stresses means less compromise to your immune system and less heart disease as those things can effect your overall well-being and ability to fight off disease, etc!.!.So that is the good!. The bad is that it's not been out in the world long enough to really know what it can do long-term in millions of patients yet!.

I have tried it myself also for pms symptoms- it does exactly what it claims!.!.!.decreases those ups and downs, evens moods, and I had zero side effects!. If you are using it for severe or major depression the use of it will be more challenging (how much to use, whether it can be useful, or whether it should be used with other drugs)!. And obviously the higher the dose the higher the chance of side effects!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening, for depression and anxiety!. I've been taking that for over a year and a half, and it's working very well for me!.

The Wellbutrin SR seems to help me to be more active - and wanting to do things - while the Lexapro makes me more mellow, and it helps me sleep better, too!.

Best of Luck to you :-)

Neither!. Had no effect on myself or 3 of my friends who were also prescribed the same meds!. Mine worked somewhat after they quadrupled the dosage and added effexor to the mix!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
