To all people who suffer from panic attacks...?!

Question: To all people who suffer from panic attacks!.!.!.!?
To all people who suffer from panic attacks!.!.!.

I am looking for ways to relieve, help, or otherwise "deal with" panic attacks!. What do you do to prevent panic attacks!? Have you found a way to successfully talk yourself out of panic!? Have you tried psychotherapy for panic and did it work!? Do you find that telling others about your panic attacks helps or makes it worse!?

I do have a prescription for Xanax but I don't want to rely on them!. What do you do!?

For me, the best ways to get rid of panic attacks are going outside as you can get some fresh air!. Going somewhere quiet (maybe with someone you're close to) helps as it gives you time to think and calm down!. I haven't tried psychotherapy, but my panic attacks have decreased a lot from several times a week to one or two every few months!. Telling others definitely helps as they would understand and would be prepared if you did have a panic attack!.

One thing you shouldn't do is to try to escape from situations that give you panic attacks, because the longer you stay away from them, the worse you feel about being put in that situation again!. It's best to confront your feelings!.

Also, if you are in a place where you feel panicky, it's best to stay near the door so there's an escape route if you do have a panic attack!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I try to find somebody and talk to them immediately, even if that means calling someone late at night!.
I also try to get my mind off the subject, go for a walk and I know its not the best thing to do but I smoke a cigarette!. It gets my mind off!.

In terms of preventing, try not to put yourself in situations that may cause harm!. For example dont ask a question if you can't stand an answer you don't favor (thats something I do alot!)

When it happens, try to have a buddy for these times!. Someone you can always call/text and try getting your mind off it!.

Leaving the place is also a good help, even if it means just changing the room!.

Remember: panic attacks are a cycle!. A mental situation creates a physical condition (e!.g!. high heartbeat rate) and then it makes the mental situation worse!. so you have to cut off the cycle somewhere:

Either try to take your mind off and distract yourself, or try taking deep breaths and physically calming yourself down!. Thats what those pills are for!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i was once on antidepressants, but i got off of those!. i have several anxiety disorders, the way i tend to get rid of them is when i start to hyperventilate, i force myself to breathe slow!. its really hard to do at first, but after a while, you will find it easier to do it!. you just need to learn to nip it at the bud, if you wait till after you are in a full blown anxiety attack, you can forget getting yourself out, you will just have to wait it out!. trying to breathe slower will do two things, one, you will stop hyperventilating, two, your mind will be so preoccupied trying to slow your breathing (which is tougher than it sounds) that you will start to forget your fear!. even though panic attacks dont usually have a cause!.!.!.at least, mine dont, they just happen out of nowhere!. my fiancee also helps me, when he notices me start to breathe faster, he MAKES me calm down, haha he helps a lot, you could find someone to talk to, someone who knows how to do it as well!. good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to!.!.!.!.
