If a person can be mildly depressed (I assume they can!?) can then be mildly bi-polar!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
There are diagnosis for bipolar!. Bipolar I - depression and mania resulting in delusional behavior which requires hospitalization!. Bipolar II - depression and mania which do not require hospitalization!. Generally, the Bipolar II patient does not have mania to the degree that they become delusional (therefore requiring hospitalization)!.

Mild bipolar is called Cyclothymic Disorder - depression with mild mania!. This would be the person who when they are manic - might buy the entire bar a round of drinks even though they can't afford it!. They tend to have grandios ideas about themselves when manic - but function within normal ranges!.

Regardless - Bipolar is a serious mental illness and the term should not be used loosely when talking about someone's mental status!. Feeling sad one day and happy two days later is usually NOT bipolar!. Mania is distinct behavior - far beyond just being happier than you were last week!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bipolarism is literally being happy one minute and very unhappy the next!. The mood swings are more pronounced than in clinical depression and occur over a shorter space of time!. I don't think you can be mildly bipolar!. Mildly depressed people just feel a bit blue!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!. It has to do with chemical imbalances in the brain!. They can be major or minor but mood swings dont always mean bi-polar!. To really know whats going on you would have to see a doctor and they might run tests and check symptoms against a DSM (diagnostic and statistical manual) criteria!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Now you stop with all this mild nonsense!. You're crazy, You're absoulutely crazy!. But thats ok, because your girlfriend will just break up with you during winter break when you propose to her and she says no and you say " ill just have to knock you up when you're sleeping"Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bipolar II

depression and mania are not as pronounced!. mania is called hypomania!.

it's often overlooked at a disease because the hypomania can mimic good ole American hardworking ethic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
