Is love addiction really an actual psychological illness?!

Question: Is love addiction really an actual psychological illness!?
I know we can all get completely head over heels in love where it feels like an obsession - especially in the beginning!. But is it really a mental illness for some people!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I know a boy who got so in love that he became psychotic and depressed!. It was the start of something very bad!. But I'm inclined to say 'no' to your question!.

Psychological illnesses are hard to define!. Schizphrenia is a spectrum disorder, so is autism!. Personality disorders are guidelines, but fictitious!. You can say from experience that yes, this-and-this seems to be an illness, but you cannot know where the boundaries are!. Because we do not know the physical manifestations of psychological illnesses fully!.

Personality disorders are perhaps the least exact science of them all, because they are nothing more than personalities, that doctors have come to view as debilitating!. I'm guessing that love addiction could be defined under that, maybe under "dependent PD"!.

It could be a trigger for something worse, like in my example!. The brain processes love very similarly to psychosis, after all!. I've also noticed that depressed people think very uniformly, and can't let go of certain thoughts!. They get obsessed!. They could get obsessed by a person!.

But I would never take it to be a symptom or a disease!. If a shrink were to claim that my love was unatural, I would probably become very angry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe for some in rare cases but in reality likely not an actual illness Www@Answer-Health@Com
