Anger turned inward: depression?!

I think it is an oversimplification!. Depression is not necessarily "anger turned inward", because someone can just feel apathetic and hopeless - they think of a logical reason behind their apathy and hopelessness!. Their reasons may or may not be rational - but some just have a learned sense of helplessness, i!.e!. repeated sense of failure or low expectations of things working out for them!. I think depression can be the result of anger!. Anger is a feeling and I think it can cause a chemical response in the body resulting in depression and sometimes it is hard to shake off being depressed!. Just like a runner's high, an orgasm or chocolate make you feel good, I think anger causes a negative chemical response and sometimes we stay there for a while!. I also think when we feel we have no control over a situation or beat ourselves up for our past, we can turn our anger inward and feel depressed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As far as i think so anger is not only the cause for depression, there are many other causes that finally turn into depression like jealousy, personal problems, tension and then depression is also caused by anger!. When you cant show up your anger it accumulates inside you Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah I have heard that too!. I guess is makes sense for some of the time, but I don't know if it is true all of the time!.

I guess they mean that if you feel that you're hopeless, worthless, or just trapped in a bad situation -- you are "beating yourself up" for what you think is wrong with being you!. You're mad at yourself for what you did/said or didn't do/say!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
