Question: Has anyone taken effexor xr!?
i was recently in a really bad accident and while i was in the hospital i began to take 75mg of effexor xr, i have been taking it for a month now and i dont wanna take it anymore cuz of all the side effects!.!.!. is it ok to quit cold turkey!? how long before it gets out of my system!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is not ok to stop cold turkey!. You need to go to your doctor and tell him/her that you don't want to take it anymore!. They will taper you off it slowly and even then you will have terrible withdraw symptoms!. This is a very hard drug to get off of!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I've been taking Effexor XR for 6 months now!. I started on 75mg and recently was increased to 150mg!. The side effects weren't so bad on the 75 but on the 150 it is extremely bad! PLEASE do not quit cold turkey!. You doctor will need to lower your dosage and eventually in about a month or so you will be able to come off of it!. It is not wise to "just stop" any anti-depressant medication by yourself!. You will probably have withdrawl symptoms as well!. I hope I helped you some and everything works out ok!. I used to take Effexor and when my doctor wanted to change the type of medicine, he had to wean me off because you can't quit cold turkey!. Please talk to your doctor before stopping this medicine!.
