Question: I need go see a therapist regardin my depression, where do i start!?
i never really booked a therapy appoitment before, never the less a regular doctors appointment, but my depression is getting worse by the minute!.!.!. i have BC-BS for insurance, anyone know how the process works and where do i go to find the right doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

First thing I would do is to call your family doctor, if you do not have one any doctor in your area!. Unfortunately receptionists, IME are not very empathetic or sympathetic or very smart!.!.!.so any questions you give them they will tell you to call your insurance company!.!.!.I tell you this if you fee like you may do something to harm yourself!.!.!.if so go to a hospital!.!.!.!.
I would call your insurance company and ask them what mental health professionals (psychiatrists or psychologists) are in your network!.!.a network is the doctors that accept your insurance plan!. Then ask if you need a referral for this doctor from your general practicior, if so, then you need to schedule an appointment with them and tell them what you are experiencing!.!.!.and have them refer you to a specialized doctor!. Most doctors have many colleagues and sometimes friends in various fields of medicine that they can give you a good idea of who to see!.!.!.!.however make sure that the GP gives you a referral and not a medication!.!.meds are fine and they have their place, however, you need to be seeing a specialist!.!.!.!.after that just make the appointment by calling the doctor's office and go to the scheduled appointment!.!.!.you will receive an initial evaluation, and perhaps medication and therapy depending on the type of doctor you see!.!.!.best of luck you, the first step is hard, but it is also the first step toward getting better!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would probably call your insurance company and they could tell you what clinics accept their insurance and if you have to get a referral for a psychiatrist or not!.
After you find out what clinics take your insurance, just make the call!.
What I did was I knew what places accepted my insurance!. So I called a referral line, and you just talk with someone for a couple minutes, tell them what you need help with, and they will set you up with someone who they think will be beneficial for you and what help you need!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

start with your primary care doctor and ask him/her to refer you to someone!. thats assuming you like your doctor!. if not ask people you know and trust who they go to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
