Question: I cant even go out without having major anxiety panic attacks!?
i have had serious anxiety for many years, i have cronic anxiety, and depression due to the fact i have social phobia and cant even go to the shop to buy some milk coz i get so scared and judged and start having anxiety panic attacks and crazy racing thoughts rushing thru my head!. my doctor hasnt really given a crap and given me crap anti depresants that never worked, i also have a small child and i find it impossible to cope like this , i feel like a complete loser and really cannot take it anymore, i cant even go to the shop with my own daughter coz i start panickin and avoid it and shop online, wat am i spose to do to help myself , is there any anxiety medication that can help im so desperate this has ruined my life for years and i cant take it no moreWww@Answer-Health@Com

I hope you can find a good counselor to talk to!. Try not to worry about the judgment of others, what matters is what you think!. You have value as a person!. You have value to your family and your child!. And if someone else doesn't like you, so what!? We all have people that don't like us!. The people you feel are judging you have people that judge them too, and they probably don't think about you that much, so try not to give it more weight than it is worth!. Try to practice going out, take small steps and it will get easier!. Think positive thoughts and don't beat yourself down when you don't do as well as you think you should have!.

What have you got to lose by being the person God made you to be!? Nothing!. If someone doesn't like you, that's their choice and their loss!. I speak from experience in that I used to have social anxiety myself!. I'd think over and over about what I'd said or done, or how I wasn't as popular as so and so!. But really it's a waste of time!. If you like yourself, others will like that quality!. It takes work on your part, but it is worth it!. I still say dumb things, and sometimes am nervous in certain situations, but I don't dwell on it!.

You have acrophobia, and best way to cure this is to be referred to a
Psychologist your GP will put you in touch with one, oh you don't need drugs atall !. Makes me wonder why your doctor has not done nothing before! Ring him or get someone to do it for you and say you need to see him and tell him everything, it won't be fixed in 5 minutes or 5 days it will be a very gradual thing, as someone said to me small steps !. Paxil (generic name is paroxetine) has greatly helped me with social anxiety!. You have to give it time - at least 6 weeks!. It often takes some time to get the right dose and medications!. You may also need to take a combination of meds!. Yeah, some people say that "medication is not always the answer", but sometimes it is!. So take it if it helps!.

A good book to read is called "From Panic to Power" by Lucinda Bassett!. It helps you deal with anxiety!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lol, there is probably something that is so easy to put right however I can say you are classed as having a disability try getting your doctor to introduce you to other professionals who deal in that arena, you may find getting a car helps you get out as this gives you your own space!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. As you've already discovered with the ADs, medication is not the answer for problems like this!.
You need a Community Psychiatric Nurse who is skilled in Behavioural Therapy, so ask your doctor to refer you to the mental health services!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

i have agrophobia, what your saying sounds so much like what im going through!. your not a looser!. change your gp/dr!. and ask to speak to a cpn!. ive had it for nearly three years now i still can't go out!. i feel for you girl!.ask for better medication ive been trying quite a few in till i found the one's im on now!. but im scared of people full stop i have my reasons but i know what you saying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

PanicAway is a great program by Joe Barry to solve panic attack and anxiety problems!.I had these problems but cured completely!.You can read the introduction of that program here

You sound so much like me!. I've been suffering from PTSD for about 2 years and for the last year bad social anxiety (after getting over depression about 8 years ago)!. I also have a young child and sometimes I feel like such a bad mom, because I can't even go out into the yard anymore!. So finally 2 weeks ago I started counselling, and my gp started me on an antidepressant!. I don't really have any good advice to give, just wanted you to know you're not alone in feeling like this!. You must be really strong to have made it this far, feeling the way you do!. Get a new doctor (one who understands what you're going through), start counselling, CBT!. Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.
Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!

It sounds as though you may have developed agoraphobia but only your Dr!. will know!. If you have been seeing your Dr!. and are not satisfied with the services then perhaps you need to get a second opinion!. I once was stuck in my house and still sometimes have very severe anxiety but I have found that yeah, medicine takes the edge off but cognitive behavioral therapy has helped the most and continues to!. You are eventually going to have to get to the "root" of what is causing the social phobia, hence the anxiety attacks!.
