I would ask how long you have been on it because as I recall from my time on Effexor (or Venlafaxine) the vivid dreams went away after a while!. If it has been more than 12 weeks and you don't feel the good you are getting from the meds outweighs the side effects (and it would have to be a lot of good) then I would suggest telling your doctor about all the side effects you are experiencing!. Whatever you do, do NOT come off this medication cold turkey!.!.!.titrate down over time -- let your doc work out a schedule, because it is the worst med to come off if you have been on it for any length of time at all! Best of luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The side effects you can manage:

Constipation due to medications - Take Senna-S two tabs twice daily!.

Dry mouth - suck on hard candy like Lemon sours or peppermint!. Sip water to combat dehydration!.

Fatigue - rest!. If you take your antidepressant in the morning, consider switching it to bedtime!. This may also take care of the apathy you feel!.

How long have you been on this medication!? Sometimes after a therapeutic level has been reached (4-6 weeks) most side effects will subside!.

Talk to your prescribing doctor about your vivid abnormal dreams and sexual dysfunction!. It may be that the dose could be adjusted!.

Good luck, and I hope this helps!.

Every case is different!. However, it does seem you are getting a plethora of side effects typical of SSRI's (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors)!.

It would probably be a good idea to have a meeting with your psychiatrist and/or pharmacist and see if it would be a logical change for you to start taking a natural SSRI such as St!. John's Wort!. It has considerably less side effects and practically no rebound effect!. However, it is not generally used for severe depression!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's quite a list of side effects!. If they're badly affecting your life, then do speak to your doctor!. There are many antidepressants out there, and I'm sure you can find one with fewer side effects (for you) than that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

How long have you been on it!? If it is working well otherwise for whatever you are taking it for stay on it and hopefully the side effects will go away!. If its been more than 3 months I would say talk to your Dr!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

insist that your doctor change your medications or go to another doctor!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is quite a lengthy list of side effects!. I would suggest talking to your doctor about changing your prescription!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
