How can I find free mental health services?!

Question: How can I find free mental health services!?
I don't have insurance, but I really need to see a doctor!. I am going through a serious mental health crisis and I am afraid I may try to kill myself if I don't get professional help soon!. I've tried to find help on samhsa!.gov and my state's health department's website, but neither is clear about eligibility or services!. Is there anyone out there who has already navigated the system and can explain it in plain English!? Are there any resources out there for me!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
First of all it would help to know how old you are!.
But next in you phone book-guessing you live in the states, look up Dept of Mental Health!. Call the number given and ask for the Director of Mental Health Services for you area of the state, most states are divided into areas!. Next explain you have no insurance and you are in need of mental health services, most all states have agencies that work on a sliding scale!. Also some states actually have a hot line that will help you if you need immediate help and I don't mean hospitalization!. If that fails to work you can read my profile and if you feel safe e-mail me and I'll see what I can do for the state you live in!. God Bless ReggieWww@Answer-Health@Com

Where are you!? If you're in the UK, you can get help such as counselling and information for free from MIND: http://www!.mind!.org!.uk (there's information about mental health there regardless of your location)!.

In a crisis, consider calling a hotline!. You can find one in your area (anywhere in the world) at http://www!.befrienders!.org You might also consider emailing the Samaritans for confidential advice at jo@samaritans!.org

I'm not familiar with health care outside of the UK!. You talk about insurance, so I presume you're outside of the UK!. I believe that some states in the US, for example, have state- or county-provided health services, although waiting times are not ideal!.

Your local council may be able to give you some advice about how to access free mental health care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
