Anti-anxiety medications... Lexapro... etc?!

Question: Anti-anxiety medications!.!.!. Lexapro!.!.!. etc!?
I'm currently taking Pristiq, which is a new version of Effexor (I used to take Effexor)!. My doctor wants to change me to Lexapro because of the awful side effects I've experienced on Effexor (and the Pristiq isn't working for me)!.
I've read that Lexapro can have pretty bad side effects!. Has anyone had a strictly good experience on Lexapro!?
Does anyone have a suggestion of a medication for anxiety that does not have bad side effects!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I took Lexapro for a year!. I didn't really notice any side effects!. I think when I first started taking it, probably for the first month, i was more tired and fatigued than normal!. But that went away!. I did gain weight that same year, but am uncertain if it was caused by that or not!. At the same time I started taking Birth Control and I was going through a very stressful time!. All three of those are prone to have a side effect of weight gain!. But, each person is built entirely different from another!. What works for me may or may not work for you!. Try it, and if it doesn't work, you're in the same position you are right now!. Good luck! I know how hard it is!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have Paxil, which has worked great for me!. I suggest that you don't try anything that's brand new, because they usually haven't been thoroughly tested yet!. Lots of side effects go away after you've been on the drug for a few weeks, or if you try changing the time of day that you take the pill, whether you take it with food, etc!. Also, don't think that all the listed side effects will happen to you--they usually don't!. It's a bad system, but you just have to try it and find out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.

But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to!.!.!.!.

I was taking 225mg Effexor and after a year or so, it just didn't work anymore and sometimes the depression got worse!. My doctor changed me to Cymbalta!. I've been on it since last October and have been feeling terrific ever since!. It has the usual side effects which increase liver function numbers; however with Cymbalta I do not have the sexual dysfunction side effects thank goodness!. When I have an anxiety attack which is seldom (because of the Cymbalta) I'll take a clonazepam (klonopin) I works so much faster than xanax, it lasts longer
than xanax too!. I've never heard of Pristiq!. I've never taken Lexapro!.

Feel better and as my therapist says!.!.!.maintain altitude!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i took lexapro for 30 days!. i was working in a very stressful job { i worked for an armored car company } and we had a new boss that would not let me step down from a supervisor position !. my blood pressure hit 160 / 110 !. they doubled the dose , and it would only go down to 145-150 over 102-105 !. they then put me on lexapro to help with the stress!. it worked for me , and my blood pressure dropped!. i was able to leave that position { after going over his head } and i came off of the lexapro!. no side effects for me while i was on it!.
good luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
