Oh my Lord, my heart goes out to you!. I know exactly how you feel!. My answer to you would be to follow your heart!. If you feel like corresponding with your father, then that Is exactly what I would do if I was you!. If you do not feel like talking to him then by all means DONT!.

Its very difficult the life of a bipolar!. While bipolar is not cureable, it is treatable!. The problem is the bipolar self medicates and doesnt seek the proper treatment and the proper meds required to lead a stable life thus causing choas and hurt among the ones that love them the most!. My heart is crying for you right now!. In that letter, if you decide to write it, I would beg him to go to his pdoc and get on bipolar meds that are right for him to acquire stability and to stop with the self medicating and useage of illegal drugs and alcohol!. That will only add to the misery!. Ask him to see what his pdoc recommends and then adhere to it!. Lamictal is a drug with very few side effects and they now have a lot a newer meds that replace the lithiums of old!. They also have a med (cognitin) which used jointly with the bipolar meds eliminates some or most of the side effects!. That is what I would write in the letter!. Id also tell him that if he tries to help himself, then U will try to forgive all his indiscretions!. The operative word for U is TRY!.

You do realize that bipolar is an illness not a disease and with the proper meds one can lead a pretty normal and stable life but your dad has to be willing to do some serious work, thereapy, counselling and suffer a few side effects before he is stable!.

Good luck to you!. I wish you the very very best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to someone!.!.!.a school counselor, someone at the police department, clergy, a teacher!.!.!.keep asking until someone helps you!. You need to have a chance to have a normal life without fear!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

After 2 years of being misdiagnosed as depressed and put on several medications that made my condition worse, I was finally diagnosed as bipolar!. I drank a lot in the past to try and change my feelings and hurt a lot of people along the way!. My advice is to write your Dad and tell him how much you love him, but that if he can't find a psychiatrist and get on the recommended meds to help himself, you can't be around him and why!. He needs to help himself!. Bipolar is a miserable illness, but he can do it!. He's worth it and so are you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
