Does anyone know of a helpline for depression (UK)?!

Question: Does anyone know of a helpline for depression (UK)!?
Answers:

Doctors' surgeries usually have a counselling service, or can refer people to counselling on the NHS, although there may be a waiting list for this!. It is likely to be short term counselling of perhaps 6-12 weekly sessions of an hour!. Another option is to see a private counsellor!. There may be a charge, but this may be on a sliding scale according to your income!. To find a counsellor near you, check the website of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)!. There are a few organisations in the BACP database that don't charge fees at all!.

Careline offers confidential telephone counselling over the phone on 0845 122 8622 (Mon-Fri 10am-1pm and 7-10pm)!. Careline can also refer you to organisations in your local area!.

You may also find the following booklet helpful: www!.mind!.org!.uk
There may also be support in your area!. There are a number of local Mind associations throughout the country!. Each local Mind association is a charity in their own right and affiliated to Mind!. Each offers different support services dependent on their individual resources!. So you would have to contact your local Mind association directly to see what is on offer!.

To find your nearest local Mind association click: www!.mind!.org!.uk/Mind+in+your+area

You can also contact the following organisations via email for help and support!.
