HELP!! bed time stress...?!

Question: HELP!! bed time stress!.!.!.!?
i am tying desperately to get my (just turned) two year old daughter to put herself to sleep, sleep in her own bed and have a bed time!. i understand that it may take longer because she is older, but i am wondering if there is anyone out there that has dealt with this, how long it took, how they went about it!? anything that might make this hard time any easier!. id also like to know if im going about this in the correct ways!. i have set her bed time for 830, (may change to 8, but for now this is what works with our schedule) i read her a book and then say goodnight and leave her in her bed!. now as soon as i leave she crys and trys to come downstairs and i put her back in bed and tell her to get back in bed!. i can tell she goes to sleep, and then wakes up crying again!. i just don't know if this is the way you get them to fall asleep on their on!? any way ANY advise is very appreciated!. also i do know i should have done this WAY sooner, but due to previous living arrangements (sleeping arrangements) i was unable to, and will be starting my second born out without co-sleeping, so thanks to anyone who can help!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You should probably sleep in her room with her for a couple of days, a night lamp could help!.
It could be as easy as asking her what's wrong, and finding out why she has trouble sleeping on her own!.

Good luck!.

EDIT: I guess your like her security blanket!.

Also another thing you can try is when it is bedtime make sure she is tired!. So maybe play a few games before bed and then she may fall asleep as soon as you put her into bed!.

Another thing is make sure that the bed time you've chosen for her isn't too early for her!. Because this is her first time sleeping in her own bed you need to make sure she get's just the right amount of sleep so she doesn't end up waking up during the night!.

Even a warm glass of milk about an hour before bed could help her get to sleep!.
