How do you relax in a time of worry and despair?!

Question: How do you relax in a time of worry and despair!?
My older brother is very ill in the hospital!. He had surgery yesterday and seemed to be doing OK after I left the hospital today!. My mother calls me this evening to tell me that his condition has changed and he is doing worse!. My brother lives nearly 5 hours away so it's not like I can just hop in my car and rush over there!. Not to mention I just came home from there today!. I know that there is nothing I can do but I can't even sleep tonight!. I've been cleaning ever since I got home to keep my mind occupied!. I want to jump out of my skin!. I'm hoping and praying to God to make things better!. I am even anxious about my cell ringing for fear it's going to be bad news!. What do I do!? How do you relax and just say "God I'm leaving this to you!?"!. I am afraid that I may lose my brother!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know it is horrible!. But the despair comes from the lack of control!. You have lack of control over the situation!. Therefore, any good psychiatrist will tell you, you must keep busy!. You must do things in which you feel in control over!. For example, go work in the garden, speed clean the house, do laundry!.!.!.!. The mind hangs onto things!. Don't try to take things from it, just replace the things!. Instead of despair, think work!. This is the only way to alleviate this emotion or any other bothersome emotion!. Then when your body and mind are tire, do something constructive for your brother or you!. Call family, friends or coworkers!. Talk about the situation, as you are doing on YA!. But don't indulge in it!. Set time and then get back to the busy work!. God will help, but just reset your mind!. Good luck, and know that life is short and just do your best!. Sorry for the circumstances!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Drink a cup of hot tea!. Sit down and take some deep breaths!. It will help you relax, but you will worry!. That is normal because you don't want to loose your brother!. Get your Bible and spend some time with it!. Pray for your brother!. Get out the photo album and remember the good times with your brother!. It will help you to take the worry away!. I am sorry for you!. Let some tears roll!. Only by letting your emotions out can you begin to heal!. Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just close your eyes take a deep breath and relax, remember all the good things in your life, forget whats going on around you!. Just focus on the fact that everything will be okay whatever happens and when you open them again!. I can understand why you are so worried!. I have lost two brothers and almost lost another due to a motorcycle accident!. During these kids of times it helps to think of all the good things in your life and appreciate the little things that are important!. Remember it's better to have someone even in this kind of circumstance than to have no one at all as many people are alone in this world and have no one to love or any one to love them!. You are fortunate to have a brother you care for and I'm sure he cares a great deal for you too!. I know this won't make the pain go away but but it helps to spend some time focusing on the good things in your life and being thankful for those blessings God has bestowed upon you!. I wish him well and I'll say a prayer for him and wish you well and pray for you too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
