My husband was molested as a teen?!

Question: My husband was molested as a teen!?
My husband was molested by his step dad as a teen!. I have total sympathy for him and wish that had never happened!. I've encouraged him to seek therapy for it, but no luck!.

In terms of my own 'needs', should we seek therapy, should I give up on us having much of an intimate relationship, or what!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes, let him know that you both need help !. He needs this more then you both understand, this is a very powerful, overwhelming life altering
situation!. If you have a church see if you can start there, if not call some other Professional that deal with this sort of counseling, At this point it is not just about him , its about you & him, And the life ahead of you with him healing, Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depends!. You don't really tell us what the results are!. Are you having intimacy problems!? Is he distant!? Is he depressed!? Is he treating you well!? I'll put it this way- if his molestation is impacting your relationship in a negative way, then he needs to get some therapy!. If he won't go himself, offer to go with him!. Either way, you need to tell him if this is hurting you, and then it is his responsibility as your husband to do something about it!. If he refuses, then you've got a problem!.

That said, if he is fine and handling things well and you two are doing well together, then it doesn't matter if he seeks therapy or not!. Every person who is molested as a kid does not let it impact their adulthood!. It really is a case-by-case situation!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are religious, try therapy through a church, or organization!. I had a really bad experience in therapy, so I always advice people to avoid it, or really check out who their going to!.

I think he might find it easier to go by himself first, then after he's comfortable, you can go as a couple!.

I would move on to another guy because this guy has issues he's not willing to work on for the sake of your relationship which tells me it's not that important to him, you deserve better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should if he dosent havea problem with it
depends if it bothers him Www@Answer-Health@Com
