How to switch from Effexor XR to Lexipro with out trauma!?!
Question: How to switch from Effexor XR to Lexipro with out trauma!!?
I've been on the full dosage of Effexor XR for the past 5 years!. I recently lowered my dosage to 75mg and then two months later to 37!.5 which is the lowest available!. I was told to take the 37!.5 for 15 days strait and then every other day!. Day 16 (my 1st every other day) when I skipped I woke up terribly sick!. I could not even stand up strait not to speak of the vomiting,other stomach probs!., massave headache and dizziness!. I went to my doctor today and he said to switch me to Lexipro and then ween myself off of it in a few months because the side effects are not as bad!. I'm pretty scared to try it tonight for fear of waking up sick again!. Should I take both to get my body used to the Lexipro!? Any sugestions would be helpfull Thanks so much!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I went from Effexor to Lexapro (from lowest Effexor dose), I took them both together for five days then stopped the Effexor!. I had no problems at all doing it that way!. It is important to remember though that we all react differently to medications!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
