Question: Are Any of You Suffering From Depression in the Workplace!?
I have suffered with clinical depression for over a decade now!. I am on antidepressants and see a Psychiatrist regularly!. Recently at work, my boss chastised me for my low energy level and difficulties concentrating!. I have worked here for 15 years and always kept my situation under wraps - but felt like I could lose my job, so I reluctantly revealed my condition to my boss!. She was actually very empathetic and said "Wow, now it all makes so much more sense"!. Next week, I meet with her to discuss Reasonable Accommodations!. I actually feel a great sense of relief!. I was always terrified of the stigma this could create for me at work, but now I feel that this will really work in my favor under the laws of the ADA and with greater understanding on the part of my employer!.
Have any of you faced any issues at work connected with your depression!? How have you handled it!? Did you reveal your condition to your boss!?
I'd love to learn what others' experiences are and what you all have done to deal with depression in the workplace!.

When I was working I only worked part time so I did not disclose my depression!.!.!.etc to my employer!. I was able to go for therapy/medication appointments without having to talk about it at work!.
I would have a hard time trusting my employer!. I think initially the employer could seem understanding but later on any problem that comes up at work could be blamed on the diagnosis!.
