I am on an anti depressant and also take a medication for anxiety!. My doctor has given me Restoril to help me sleep at night because she said that most anti depressants cause insomnia in some way!. It works really well for me!. I have also been on Lunesta, Ambien, and Ambien CR, but this one seems to be the best with no side effects!. Good luck to you! I know how much it sucks to not sleep!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm thinking out loud here!.!.Are you doing something stimulating before you go to bed or are you doing something boring and sleep inducing!? Also eating to close to bedtime apparently keeps you awake as does caffeine in the evenings!. Distractions can keep you awake and some people use white noise machines to drown out environmental noises and have great success!. Its great that the depression and anxiety have responded well to the Cymbalta, you are halfway there! Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pills are not all a cure-all!. Depression has many many symptoms, and while the cymbalta might be getting rid of the most obvious emotional ones, you could be missing the fatigue!. You should mention it to your doctor!. I am on meds for mild bipolar with more depression, and they get rid of the depression and the mood swings entirely!.!.!.yet I am still a huge insomniac!. I take a sleep aid to help that!.

Definitely mention it to your doc!.!.!.and do whatever you can to help yourself relax and be tired!. For example!.!.!.get yourself physically tired during the day (exercise) and then take a hot bath or something equally relaxing!. The combo might helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

The most important thing is consistancy!. Going to bed and getting up everyday at the same time will go along way to help you sleep better!. Folks who get their 45 min of cardio in per day also sleep better -just make sure that you don't exercise within three hours of trying to sleep!.

You might try diaphramic breathing, progressive relaxion, and mindfulness meditation just before you sleep!. It might also be to your benefit to take a vitamin B6 (100mg) and a magnesium before you go to sleep!.

I have had this problem about 4 times in my life for weeks!. Here are some things that helped me!.

One time I decided, if I'm up I might as well do something constructive, so I started delivering newspapers!. I did that for about 2 months and guess what!? It was years before it happened again!.

Another time I tried to figure out what was I worried about, thinking about!. I addressed those issues to God with all my heart every-night before bed and read the bible and soon enough, I slept great!.

I changed to my couch which is incredibly comfortable, but I could do that when I was single!. I slept on it for about 2 months that time, and slept great and finally went back to my bed and I was fine!. But I also read some great inspiring books that didn't freak me right before bed!.

And the last time, I again, had to address some issues and get right with God!.

I never used any medications!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would let your doc know!. There are plenty of other meds out there!. If you have used cymbalta for a while you may be building a tolerance to it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
