What kind of medicine do I need to take?!

Question: What kind of medicine do I need to take!?
Okay, so obviously my medicine is not working!. I have a serious depression problem!. I get depressed when someone says any little thing that even sounds a little bit like it's mean!. I never want to do anything but sleep!. I don't talk to any of my friends!. I have been like this for about two years!. I started out taking Zoloft, but it did not help me, it made me worse!. And then I took Welbutrin, but it made me cry all the time!. Then, because I have insomnia and get really depressed at night, my Dr!. perscribed Remeron!. It didn't do anything for me except make me sleepy!. I have been taking Celexa for about a year now and it worked okay at first, but it is not working anymore!. I want something that will make me happy and bubbly!. And I won't get mad/depressed anymore!. And I will have more energy!. I want something to suggest to my dr because I feel like he may think I am crazy because nothing is working for me! Please help!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Boy, does your question bring back memories that would be better forgotten!. I'm sorry to say there isn't any magic pill to help make you happy, though I wish there were for your sake!. Here are some things to consider when talking with your Dr!.

1!. Your prescription dosage may not be enough!.
2!. Maybe your Dr!. can combine another med to take in conjunction with what you are presently taking!.
3!. Maybe you should keep trying to find a med that works after some trial and error!.

Suggest getting some daily exercise!. This will help with your mental state and to get some needed sleep!.

Has anyone told you that you snore when sleeping!? Maybe a sleep test would help diagnose and provide a lead to solving the problem!. Sleep apena can definitely lead to depression!. This is what caused mine for years until I found out I wasn't getting sufficient sleep!. Since being placed on a CPAP machine, the depression has gone away!. It may be worth a try to find out!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think there is any anti depressant that will make you all happy and bubbly unfortunately!. They just don't work like that!. They don't so much make you happy, but more able to deal with life circumstances without crying all the time or being so depressed!.

Lexapro is one you haven't tried!. Paxil, Prozac, Effexor are some more options!. They work different for everyone so nobody can tell you how any medicine will work for you until you try it yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

have you tried going to a counsellor about this!? i suffer from depression too but sometimes even being listened too can make such a difference!. try any thing that makes you feel happy!. try meditation, yoga, walking along the beach!. often there is an underlying issue at the back of your mind that creates symptoms of anxiety and depression even further!. remember medication will only treat the symptoms, but by working out the troubling issues in your life will slowly but surely cure them!. good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Definitely suggest any ideas you have to your doctor!. I also grow out of my medications, and zoloft did not work for me either!. I was on cymbalta for 7 months until I developed a severe case of Molysomophobia which is fear of dirt, germs and contamination; and am now on lexapro with mild anxiety!. I would love to go back to cymbalta!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can try Lexapro, effexor, paxil, prozac and endless MAOI's and tricyclics!. If that doesn't work you can go to electroshock, vagal nerve stimulation, and then mood stabiliizers like depakote, lamictal, neurotin, and lithium!. There are all sorts of drugs you can try before you give up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

try and ask for something with lithium in it, it works wonders for all sorts of mental illnesses, but im not a doctor, but this a is just a suggestionWww@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same problem - I kept taking different antidepressants and they either didn't work for me or gave me mediocre results!. My doctor then tried me on Luvox and it has given me incredible results!. I'm not irritable or depressed anymore!. I smile and talk more!. I'm more sociable!. I have more energy!. I feel great!.

However, keep in mind that just because Luvox worked for me does not mean it will work for you!. Each person's brain chemistry is different, so it interacts differently with each medication!. A medication that works great for one person might be terrible for another person and vice versa!.

Anyway, hope this helped!. I hope you find the medication that works for you so you can feel better!. Depression is a terrible disorder that robs you of your ability to live your life!. Just hang in there and keep trying different meds with your doctor!. Sometimes it's a matter of finding the right med and then finding the right dosage for you!. It's trial and error!. Good luck! Feel free to email me if you have any questions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt he would think you were crazy!. It's his or her job to figure out what works for you!. Not every medicine will work for every person!. Have you tried prozac yet!? And something else to consider!. How many milligrams are you taking!? I took celexa for nearly 4 years!. I started out on a low does than gradually got higher!. You may just need a higher dose for one of these medicines to work!.

You also need to remember they anti depressants aren't magically!. You have to work to get better!. Medicine and therapy should go hand in hand with one another!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
