I was diagnosed with bipolar about 15 years ago!. My moods would change from contemplating suicide to staying up and partying for days!. I would spend every cent I had and hook up with all kinds of people!. My family has been dealing with this forever and while they are exhausted by it, they have learned to separate the illness from the person!. This is not an easy thing to do!.

It has affected my life by causing disruptions with my friends and family, issues with my job, etc!. When I finally told my closest friends what was wrong, they were very supportive!. I have lost friends in the past but I don't consider that a big issue!. I have no regrets, as I am unable to change the past and realized that my illness causes issues that are sometimes out of my control!.

I have been medicated and receiving therapy for years, but one of the issues with someone who is bipolar is ensuring that they take their medication regularly!. When you are feeling fine, you tend to stop taking it and that has serious consequences!.

I'm bipolar 2!. I take my meds just like I'm supposed to and I can't tell you how much they've helped me!. Before I would destroy every friendship and relationship I ever had!. Now I have a steady boyfriend and I have all my friends back!. :) They have all forgiven me for my previous bhaviors!. My feelings did not change or "deaden" but the anger and depression were lifted with the meds!.

Bipolar sufferers are often hard to "deal with" but once they find good reliable treatment the results can be dramatic!. I'd stick with him/her - things may be tough now but the relationship can always make a turn for the better!. Good luck! It's so nice of you to come on here and ask and try to understand - many people aren't willing to do that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am bi-polar and without medication I can be pretty crazy!. Often times id feel very low, depressed and insecure!. Other times id feel like im on top of the world!. This is a serious illness and can hurt others around you!. She needs medication and therapy!. They do help!. I've stopped seeing my counselor and stopped taking pills!. Now im back to being how I was!. It can even lead to suicide!. And yes my relationships with people I loved is never the same!. My friends abandoned me because of my unpredictable behavior!. After treatment, you feel SO MUCH BETTER!. But you need to find the right doctor and right prescribed medicine!. It may take a while to find out which may fit her best but its worth the trys!. I feel your pain!.!.!.!.!.deeply I do I went through the same thing and it was HARD! Evil words!.!.!.!.bad treatment, apologies that never last!. You get blamed for their actions!. Lies, I lasted a year, and it drained me, my spirit, even my need to be productive!. It was not a healthy position for me to be in!. Every time I thought I was over and done with this individual!.!.!.!.something brought us back together!. I dont think I have ever cried so intensely from hurt and pain!. The straw that broke the camels back was I allowed this person to live with me and one day they straight disrespected me and my home in front of a stranger!. Later on that evening because I didnt want to speak to them neither listen to the foolishness the had to tell me, they called the cops on me and lied saying I threw bleach on them and had hit them!. The only thing that saved me from those dumb a** cops was the 8 mis called I ignored and the text messages that they sent me!. At that point I was very confused and disappointed, because all of the patience and love that I had for this person I now felt was in vain!. I could have been fatally hurt from her lies and deception because cops are really smart they fall for anything!. People die everyday from "accidents" I was just disgusted and couldnt trust her!. The only advice that I could give is, if the individual begins to show progress, tries to get help and you see that all of your efforts arent in vain, hang in there because you love them and more than likely they love you!. Those are the steps to saying I know I need help and they're sorry for all that they have done!.!.!.!.that shows change! Www@Answer-Health@Com

what is bipolar disorder!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first thing you need to find out is if your love actually wants help!. I strongly urge against forcing anything on him/her!. If they are already seeing a psychologist and taking medication, that *is* the treatment!. It is not curable!.

For my part!.!.!. I have the disorder but have refused treatment!. Most treatments involve dulling emotions, etc!. by blocking dopamine in the brain!. This lowers things such as motivation and feelings of pleasure!. This is all on combination with seeing a psychologist to try to improve the mood and outlook of the patient!. In some cases, anti-depressants are prescribed!.

If your love has recently stopped taking medication (if he/she is already), that can make them fluctuate between manic and depressive wildly!. If that is the case, I can only suggest riding that out!. They have likely already made the decision of not taking the medication!. You will want for their mood to stabilize a bit more!.

A way to tell which your love is affected by is quite easy to spot!.

If they are going through a manic stage, they will be very energetic and it is not uncommon for them to want to do something they would not normally do!. In some cases this can open them up to new hobbies or activities!. In others, it can lead to irrational spending or actions they'll later regret!. Another common factor of mania is that they may have a general disregard for other's feelings and have extreme confidence!. I would not suggest trying to convince them of anything during a manic stage!.

A depressive stage should be a dead giveaway though!. Unmotivated, questioning past actions, and in some people suicidal tendencies!. A person during a depressive stage will likely hear criticism but may apply it in a self-negative way!.

All of this however is from my personal experience with it and some experiences from others!. I would say if yoWww@Answer-Health@Com
