How to know if a therapist is good for you?!

Question: How to know if a therapist is good for you!?
I see a psychologist, and I think he's a good guy!. He is nice, and he isn't judgemental!. Although sometimes I feel as if he down plays some of what I am feeling, or thinks of me as a typical case, and not as a unique individual, but that is going away the more I see him!. It's probably my fault that is happening anyway because I have trouble speaking my mind!. I feel uncomfortable while there, but I pretty much feel uncomfortable everywhere!. How do I know if he is good for me!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

It takes time to build trust with a therapist!. I suggest that you tell him exactly what you feel!.!.!.that you sometimes think he is treating you like a typical case of 'whatever' and that he downplays your feelings!. Communication is what therapy is all about right!? You have to be honest otherwise he has NO IDEA what you are thinking!. If you don't talk about it with him it could turn into resentment, anger and cause you to leave therapy!.

I feel uncomfortable in therapy too!.!.!.it's because it's an odd relationship!. Here is a blog about this weird relationship that you might find interesting:

Here is a blog to read about some common therapy issues!. There is a lot of great info on the net about this type of stuff from therapists and clients alike!. This one is about being honest with your therapist!.

I think (meaning just personal opinion) that if you are being forced to see this psychologist then you should continue and give it a year to see if you feel any benefit!. If you are seeing a psychologist on your own initiative then you could perhaps ask the advice of a best friend or family member if you have doubts!. Although I also think you should bring up that you feel uncomfortable with your therapist, he might know of a way to help you feel more comfortable while you are seeing him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
