Gaining confidence in work (and life)?!

Question: Gaining confidence in work (and life)!?
I started a new job at a resturant/bar about a month ago!. For the first 2/3 weeks i was mainly in the bar area so got confident there!. Recently i've been in the resturant a lot more, mainly breakfast shifs!. There's a lady whos been working at these breakfast shifts for over 20 years and she really doesn't like me, this really knocked my confidence and put me off!. She just thinks i'm rubbish and can't do anything and i think she's been complaining about me to other members of staff!.

Anyway this really put me down seeing as i've sincerely been trying my best ever since i started the job!. I just don't know what she wants me to do seeing as my best isn't good enough for her!.

Anyway today the big boss (general manager) came and talked to me when i was asking another waitress a question!. He basically said i'm asking too many questions and he knows i can do it from seeing me working so far!. He even said something had seemed to knock my confidence lately! I agree with him completly, i do need to get more confidence in what i'm doing!. I'm always second guessing myself and everything i do!. I ask questions which i do know the answer to and need too much reassurence!.

I do suffer from depression and occasionally i think this affects my performance becasue i'm not exactly feeling great about myself and abilities!. Other members of staff also say i need to be more confident!.

Baically i want to be good at my jobso how can i gain my confidence!? I know it's nothing i can do over night but i'd like to work on it so eventually i'll be a bit better!.

Also this is my first job so i just worry about messing up!.

Any advice is appretiated :), thanks!.

My spell check isn't working so sorry for bad spelling etc!.!.

Answers:
Confidence is the belief and trust one has in themselves; it is part of ones character and it helps a person to succeed and lead a stable life!. Confidence is something everyone could use to make their dreams come true!.

Before before you think about how you going to do this, I want you take a better look at {and think about} confidence!. I believe confidence is the product of several emotions!. The formula that follows will demonstrate what I mean: will+ pride+ joy +Knowledge+ courage= confidence =stable life!. I believe that if any has one or more of these traits missing in ones character; it will effect their ability to be confident!.

Now I would like you to examine each trait separately:

Will is the manifestation of energy that allows a person to meet challenges beyond his preconceived ability to cope with them!.

Pride: I believe pride can be good and conductive and enable one to be confident as long as it is not excessive!.

Joy: is very important to helping one gain or regain confidence, especially if one is not happy about what they are about to tackle or what they are trying to create out themself!.

A lack of joy, pride or will, can undermine ones confidence!. Sadness, inferiority feelings, and lack of will are the results of misusing our manifestation of internal energy!.

The key I believe is to practice meditation, positive affirmation techniques, and to stop procrastinating, this might increase ones confidence!.

knowledge: is the horse to the carriage ,without it ones confidence will be short lived, but with it the other traits will be reinforced and manifested to an appropriate degree to allow a normal function of ones confidence!.

Fear is an enemy of knowledge and will inhibit the realization of ones success!. Knowledge is a conqueror of fear as fear is a destroyer of confidence!. From this insight I
