Question: Know of any free mental health clinics in TN!?
I am in desperate need of a therapist and/or psychiatrist!. I have no income and my husband is working 50-60 hours per week just so we can eat and pay our bills - and we're down to the bare minimum on them!. We just stopped paying on 2 credit cards because we didn't have the money!. It was the credit card payments or food!. Does anyone have any suggestions!? And I have tried Centerstone - they want to charge me $245/month to see me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know if Centerstone is the local HRSA (Department of Health and Human Services) center or not!. DHS operates health centers for physical and mental health issues based on income alone!.!.!.and they may or may not take into account your other issues, I don't know!. There is a website where you can put in your address and search for those sites near you at: http://findahealthcenter!.hrsa!.gov/Search!.!.!.
Also, you could always contact a sliding scale center and explain your circumstances!. Many will take these kinds of circumstances into account!. You can find local outpatient clinics near you that work on a sliding scale basis by calling around and asking if they have a sliding scale!. To find a comprehensive list of clinics, you could check at the SAMHSA (another government) site at:

This is set to go to the Tennessee page!.
There you can filter by your city and the service setting -- strictly outpatient care, outpatient and inpatient, etc!.

I dont know about free but they may work on a sliding scale!. You may check with the health dept, they may have some suggestions on some places you can go!. Do you belong to a church!? Sometimes the pastor can counsel you and wont charge depending on what you need help on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
