Having participated in a few sessions, both individual and group, with psychologists and psychiatrists, there are a few things they will ask you upfront!.
1!. Do you have plans to do yourself any harm!?
and
2!. Do you plan to do something that might cause harm to someone else!?
I'm sure that these are questions they are required to ask!. From there, they are legally bound to take certain steps should your answer cause them the belief that you could potentially harm yourself or others!.
Regarding the judgment matter!. One thing that most any therapist will say to you is this: It is perfectly okay to judge people!. Sounds kind of mean, maybe even opposite of what you would expect to hear!. But in reality, it makes sense!. We judge people all the time!. If they feel your situation is such that there is some pending danger, they have an obligation to look out for your best interests!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

If they feel that you are a danger to yourself or others they can call the police and take you down to the mental hospital for 3 days!. If at that point you are not out of danger they can petition a judge to put you away for however long it takes to get you stable!. When you are petitioned they can force you to take medications, go to group therapy and individual therapy!. If you won't swallow the pills they will give you injections!. This is how it works in the United 'States!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I am a psychiatrist and I have had file court orders from time to time and I can tell you the most psychiatrists hate doing it!. They definitely prefer to treat you voluntarily and will usually only file court orders when someone has made a serious attempt or has plans to kill someone!.
As for the judgment thing, I think most psychiatrists are very open minded and really just want to help people!. The only 2 things that really bother me are when a patient admits to hurting animals or children!.

Let's face it!.!.!.ALL PEOPLE judge!.
But, psychiatrists are there to help, so even if they judge you, they can still help you!. The only time they lock you up if you are planning to kill yourself or another person and you have a plan on how you are going to do it!.

No, they will not call someone to lock you up unless you claim you have a plan to harm yourself or others!.
Other than that!.!.!.I was taken to the ER suicidal in the past, and they really could not do anything!. They couldn't put me in the hospital because I hadn't done anything to myself!.
