I heard that some anti-depressants cause suicidal thoughts in teens?!

for teens and people in their early 20s and even older it does cause suicidal thoughts!.!.!.but for most people, once they get past this point they do start to feel better!.

You have to keep things in perspective!. Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in adolescents!. About 3!.4% of people with depression will kill themselves eventually!. It can be a little difficult to calculate but probably less than 1 in 4500 adolescents treated with an antidepressant commits suicide shortly afterward starting the medication!. Overall the net benefit is clearly in favor of treating depressed adolescents with a combination of therapy and medications!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Edit: umm yea, it's a published study, if only you'd google it you would figure out that it's explained on hundreds of webpages!. I've even talked to my psychiatrist about it!. Yes, but there are reasons for this!. Part of it deals with the fact that teenage brains are still in a state of development!. There are also other issues about how to define depression in teens as they present differently than adults!.
