A question about meds for borderline personality disorder?!

Question: A question about meds for borderline personality disorder!?
i got told for some illnesses you can have an injection once a month is this possible for BPDWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I had injections twice a month for over a year!. They did help with the ruminating thoughts but I did have a sore *** much of the time!. Flupenthixol helped a bit, but after a while I took it more to please my dr!. than anything!. She was a sweetie!
Generally, meds don't work that well for BPD; the best they can do is mask the underlying problem!. But if they can alleviate the symptoms then keep them up!.
Now to get to your question- Yes the flupenthixol did help somewhat but it didn't fix the underlying problem!. BPD is more a problem with thoughts and emotions than it is an inability to control anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've never heard of that as a possibility!.

Psychiatric medications need to be at a constant level in the body, and they also need to be readily adjustable, and I imagine that monthly injections would be difficult for that!.

But really, how hard is it to take tablets!? People take them daily for so many sorts of illnesses!. Then there are the people who take contraceptive pills, and people who take vitamins!. It's really easy and to be honest, I'd much prefer tablets to injections!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Mental Health is never completely cured by only medication!.!.!.

I don't know if the injection is available for BPD but I know that if it is, it isn't used often!. BPD needs a combination of medications and therapy to be able to manage it!. You can't completely cure something like that, just learn to live with it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

A lot of your questions revolve around focusing on a disorder!. Have you thought about trying to cope instead of trying to medicate!? It seems like you really want to address the problem and cater to it instead of figure out how to move on!. Just one person's opinion!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some doctors will do that!. It doesn't cure anything!. It just helps you to survive it until you can learn better coping skills and then quit the medication!. There is no silver bullet!. We have to learn to live successfully with the hand that life has dealt us!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not sure, maybe you should ask a proffesional insteadWww@Answer-Health@Com
