Is it possible that my IQ has decreased?!

Question: Is it possible that my IQ has decreased!?
Several years ago, I believe I was nine, I took an IQ test!. I might add that it wasn't free, I'm not sure whether that is at all relevant, but I tend to believe all things are relevant!. My score was 144!. Now, tonight I took a free IQ test and my score was 127!. Is there a possibility that my IQ has actually decreased 17 points, and if so, why!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
In principle the intelligence quotient is supposed to remain the same with age!. The scoring of the system is supposed to take age into account so that it does *not* change as you get older!. That's the idea!.

But the intelligence quotient is utter bullshit!. It was designed over 100 years ago, and a 100 years of research have proved that what it measures is not actually intelligence, but - well - how well you do on an IQ test!. It's been debunked long ago, and you'll notice you don't see it used by practically any serious institution these days!. (Mensa is not a serious institution)!.

The only serious people who might use it are psychologists who think it's useful in diagnosing ADD or learning disabilities!. Mainly to see if there are big glaring disparities there are in someone's verbal, spatial, mathematical reasoning etc!.

Now the ONLINE IQ tests are even MORE bullshit than the traditional!. Which would explain why there's no consistency in your score!. I wouldn't expect their would be!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

In theory, your IQ score is constant, but in reality, your environment and health events will affect your score!. My bet is that the second test which was free was not that accurate (especially when you get into the genius level)!.

If you want to improve your score on a reliable IQ test, study, learn mnemonics, do puzzles, become interested in everything, and maintain a healthy life style!. A low-fat, vegitarian diet will help head off health problems due to diabeties, heart disease, high blood pressure, and cancers!. Do an hour of aerobic exercise at least 5 time per week for an hour at a time!. Get 8-9 hours of deep sleep each night!.

Surprisingly, those who learn to have intimate relationships, also have improved health!. For details on lifestyle and health, I recommend any book by Dr!. Dean Ornish!. You can also find articles online!.

Everything being the same, your IQ should be constant!. However, I suggest that you learn to live a healthy lifestyle now, so that you can enjoy a full and productive life!. Smart lifestyle choices will assure that you can maintain or possibly improve your IQ!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes and no!.

First, understand that there are several versions of the 'standard' IQ Test, and although they use similar scoring, they are not the same!. Second, IQ is a measurement of potential, not actual intelligence!. The ones you take as a child are adjusted even more so, as a child will not have a good handle on pop culture ephemera!. And third, IQ tends to fluctuate by several points with age!.!.!. I don't know about 17 points!.!.!. but I do know it is quite common to "gain" or "lose" points with a new test at various stages of life!.

And, it is worth mentioning again, the test you took as a child was probably applied by the schools (mine was)!. The test you just took was a free test and totally different!. So don't worry about it!.!.!. you're still smart!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

How old are you now and is there a subconscious, or not so 'sub' idea that paying produces!? Are you mind locked policitally or cognivitily!?

Quoting another answerer

'Smart lifestyle choices will assure that you can maintain or possibly improve your IQ!.'

I 'know' first hand, that that is so true!. Great recoginition and advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

IQ IS BULL

How can intelligence be a fixed numerical value that never goes up!?
But goes DOWN!!?
It's a dangerous pessimism

Intelligence is something so vast and varied
There are so many different kinds of intelligence
How can you rank everyone up against each other
Based on how they order shapes
Or link words to other words!?

You're 16
Forget this bull
Keep working at school
Get good grades
There's all the intelligence testing you'll needWww@Answer-Health@Com

Because IQ is a expressed as a ratio of the amount of knowledge you hold for your age, a normal person's IQ will always decrease as the get older, as new knowledge becomes scarce!.!.!. for it to stay relatively the same, a person would have to be gaining knowledge at an exponential rate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

IQ is relative to age!. At age nine you were probably at an above average intelligence level and now you may be closer to average for your age!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, to determine your IQ, your age will be a factor, so basically if you get older without learning anything, your IQ decreases!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
