I've experienced the same issue, though since mine hasn't been resolved, I was denied acceptance twice!. There may be possible ways (depending on your recruiter and how far they're willing to try and go to help get you in- and most are very good at trying to help you get past obstacles like that)!. I'm unsure, but I think if you explained the situation, it could be possible for them to find you a suitable position that would pose no risk to anyone else with you being "emotionally unstable" (as they'd put it), because they normally will try very hard to get as many people involved in the army as possible!. Also, if you are accepted and have mental problems arise during basic or even later, they can give you very good health care and you can be medically discharged if absolutely necessary!.

I would suggest talking to a recruiter about your options, or emailing someone involved with the process of getting in about it!.

Talk to a recruiter!. Don't mention trying to kill yourself (which i am very happy you didn't by the way!) ask if the army accepts people who have had counseling!. The best place to start is with an army recruiter!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
