I feel completely overwhelmed by school?!


Question: I feel completely overwhelmed by school!?
I am in 10th grade and i feel completely overwhelmed by school work, i have no social life, the one friend i have is like abusive its hard to explain but she is always putting me down, my sister is mean to me, i feel like i am a lesbian because i am shy and don't talk to guys when my whole grade has boyfriends n stuff, i am depressed, have anxiety, social anxiety i am on 10 mgs of lexapro but i don't think its working and i am in therapy which i don't even think is working!. Any advice that could make me feel better!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Omg you are just like me! I'm also in 10th grade and overwhelmed by school, and I'm also shy!.I have anxiety problems too!. Just because you don't talk to boys doesn't mean you look like a lesbian!. It's okay to be shy!. Sometimes, boys can cause a lot of drama!.

Do things you enjoy doing!. Watch a funny movie or read a funny book!. If you feel like you need to relax, then there are a few things you can do: take a bubble bath, try meditating, or maybe take a nap!. Don't think about the things that bother you!. Instead, set aside for yourself one time of the day to worry about everything, and tell yourself you won't worry anymore for the rest of the day (someone told me about that)!.

As for your abusive friend, she doesn't sound like a real friend!. If she's just going to put you down, then she's not worth your time!. Find some new friends by joining a club or something like that!.

I know, school is very overwhelming sometimes, but before you know it, it will be over!.

Be very vocal with your therapist and psychiatrist about how you feel!. They need to keep adjusting your medication until they find the right one for you!. This is extremely important!. Once you have the right medication, you will start to find it's easier to thinking positively!.

Hang in there!. Highschool can be really tough!. Don't feel bad about being shy!. A lot of people don't date until college!. Also, try to keep your distance from your abusive friend!. You're much better off alone than with someone who hurts you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would try a combination of exercise and meditation!. Exercise!.!.!.get outside and do brisk walking for 30 minutes a day!. The negative feelings and thoughts you are having can be minimized and neutralized by meditation!. Look on the net for techniques!. The idea behind meditation in to be able to give your whole concentration to the minute you are living!. It helps block out all the noise that is in your mind!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe, You make new friends and Try to meet people!. Just be yourself and you make friends

I never had that feeling though, so yeah

2!. I am social because I got into Sports
3!. I don't love a Love Life

So don't worry about love life, High School is for Friends and Education and Try to meet people in Sport or a Club/Hobby

I'm sorry to hear that!. But your on the right track by making your school work a top priority!. Because grades count a lot more now that your in High School!.

Maybe you can try reading or listening to relaxing music for about 20 minutes a day to give your mind a rest!. Meditating is helpful!. You may also want to write all of your thoughts in a journal or diary!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm still in high school too, and it's totally overwhelming!. Check out the book SOS: Help for Emotions, by Lynn Clark!. My psychiatrist recommended it to me a while ago!. The world is a difficult place, but just hang in there! Maybe talk to your parents about an online school!? Try Insight schools!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I suggest getting into some sort of school group or activity outside school to start making more friends!. I wish I had done the same in high school!.

About your 'abusive friend' I've dealt with the same negativity and you need to speak up to her and tell you how you feel about it!. Chances are she doesn't know shes doing it and once you confront her she'll back down!. As for the problem with your sister I would tell her how you feel as well!. Tell her how upset it makes you that she's treating you that way!. (Trust me, I have 4 sisters and two of them are your age)

As for dating guys, I NEVER dated any guys from the high school I went too and don't get discouraged about it, there will be plenty of guys that you will eventually date over the years!. Just be patient and confident (guys love that)!.

As for the depression meds!.!.I have NO IDEA! I went to a therapist for depression and didn't feel like it was working either so I stopped going!.
