When you cut yourself endorphins and other chemicals in your brain are released and you become addicted to it!. Self Injurers ( Cutting and other forms of self mutilation is also known as SI ) Do it because they need the release, to feel the pain, even to see and feel the blood!. It sounds gross to someone who hasn't experienced SI!. I wasn't the emo kid either, I was a A student, and President of several clubs in school!. Alot of times I have found cutters are people who like anorexics need control, are perfectionists and very hard on themselves!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
First of all Emo's don't have a patent on cutting!. Depressed people all over the world, for thousands of years have hurt themselves because they have emotional problems!. When I was a kid emo didn't exist and we cut and burned ourselves!. I know someone who is a Christian, a Scientist and a 45 year old woman who cuts herself!. People do this for a variety of reasons, but usually it is because they want to feel physical pain to distract from the emotional pain they are feeling!. Oh boy!.!.!.let go of the emos stuff-- that's a stereotype!. I cut myself because I chose to!. I don't regret doing it either!. But then again, I also suffered major depression and anxiety!. This was a way of letting things out!. You get a release!. We all have our ways of coping!. I stopped cutting because I finally saw a way out!. Some people still need!. But its not different from the way I would binge eat for the sugar release!. Its not different from drinking or using drugs or using sex!. Some people use shopping or exercise excessively!. There are so many different ways, healthy and unhealthy that we deal with our emotional problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
First off!. It isn't an "emo" thing!. I was a typical preppy girl at a private school when I cut myself!. before you make judgments you should learn about there past and maybe ask why they are hurting bad enough to cut themselves!. personally, i was raped and went through horrible depression!. I never had the guts to tell my friends the truth because they always said I did it for "attention" (even though I tried my hardest to hide it!.!.!. and did for a year)Www@Answer-Health@Com
Becouse they are going though so much emotional pain, cutting provides some emotnal relief!. Phisical pain is much more bearable then emotional!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
