Answers:
I see your concern!. There should not be any interaction!. Allow me to explain!.

Prozac is a type of anti depressant called an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor)!.

Effexor is a type of anti depressant called an SNRI (selective serotinin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor)

Effoxor is in the same family of anti depressants!. It just works on an extra chemical called norepinephrine!.

Had you been switching off of Prozac, your doctor would have done it gradually by decreasing how much you take it until you are no longer taking it!. This is because if you just quit Prozac, you can develop serotonin syndrom which can be life threatening!.

However, since you are switching from one serotonin medication to another, you are not at that risk!. There are no serious interactions between the two!. It might take a while getting used to Effexor since it's going to be affecting your norepinephrine levels now too, but within a week you should get used to it!.

If you experience any unusual symptoms don't be shy to consult your doctor as there could still be allergic reactions associated with taking Effexor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
