Do a depressed person behaves or pretends that he's happy when he's not !

Question: Do a depressed person behaves or pretends that he's happy when he's not at all!.!?
Answers:
Yes and it's extremely tiring and sooner or later you can't fake it anymore and have some kind of blow up or melt down!. Then everyone thinks you've changed into some kind of monster because up until then you've had your smiley face on!. I agree with the others you have to have someone you can be yourself with - a professional because it's too much of a burden to unload on your friends or family!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think sometimes a person might "pretend" to be happy!. I think some depressed people realize that other people generally don't want to be around someone who is putting out a lot of negative energy so they tend to keep it to themselves and try to hide it!.

Obviously this isn't really healthy so a depressed person definitely should seek out someone that they can talk openly to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, it's just that, unless you've ever experienced a deep depression, you take for granted how much social interaction depends on enthusiasm and happiness!. Depression isn't simply sadness- it's feeling nothing about things that used to make you feel something!. And, when you don't react the way people expect you to, this can cause you trouble!. Like, at work for instance!. If you have a food-service job that is absolutely anal about you being enthusiastic and delivering service with a smile, then you're going to start to be treated as though you're a bad employee, and eventually you have to fake it just to ensure your own income!. Like, Starbucks, for instance, is absolutely insane about constantly nagging their employees to be happy, smile, and make conversation with customers!. They really do ride you about making conversation!. Then, if you attempt genuine conversation, you come across as a downer and your supervisors constantly bug you about it!. Yet, they also don't want to let you get away with being silent!. So, you fake it, and fake it, and fake it, until you finally collapse from emotional exhaustion, and all the friendships you've developed with people on false pretenses- while all along people who think they know a damned thing about you, don't really know you, because you had to pretend to be someone else just to survive!. So, you're getting up very early- like 3:30 AM- to go to work and you're just running out of energy, and you're too tired to fake it, and people are rude and insulting (they always are to coffee shop employees)!. You forget who you actually are in the process, you start to get suicidal!. The suicidal tendency makes you not give a damn about being a good employee, and the negative feed-back from your supervisors telling you your too quiet and dull just compounds the urge to kill yourself!. So, you start drinking every night just to numb the pain, and rise above all the criticism and negative feedback, but you drink so frequently you even start doing it the nights when you need to get sleep, because you work at 3:30 AM the next day, but you really don't give a **** anymore about life, so you end up hung over, and you constantly think about sticking a gun in your mouth!.!.!. anyway, you get the picture!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
