Why do i have panic attacks and trouble making eye contact?!


Question: Why do i have panic attacks and trouble making eye contact!?
For the longest, i've never really understood why I have problems making eye contact with strangers!. Recently i was in a meeting at work with two vice presidents of the company i work for!. I had the hardest time making eye contact!. I found myself glancing at the table, and I started fidgeting with the pen i was holding in my hand!. Also, when ever i get in the elevator with strangers, i start panicking like crazy!. There have been times where is could be 4 or 5 men in the elevator and im the only girl, or its full with a bunch of strangers!. I start to hold my breath, start staring at the buttons lit up for the floors just praying to get out of the damn elevator!. Once im out, i feel much better!.!. What gives!?!? I don't have issues making eye contact from a distance, but when im up close with someone, it starts to become an issue!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

The answer seems pretty simple - you're intimidated! Avoiding eye contact is a way of showing submission, even in animals!. All mammals will show this behaviour when they are intimidated!. This can be treated fairly easily, once you've determined if there's anything in your past or any trauma you've suffered in your life!.
There is a root cause for your fear, and you can overcome it!. You might benefit from talking to a counsellor to see if you can discover the causes for that fear!. It may be a simple cause as your thoughts are running away with you - i!.e you convince yourself beforehand that there is something to fear before you do something!. There are other possibilities, childhood trauma, etc!. that raise your emotions to that point that you experience extreme anxiety!.
This can take a few sessions w/ a counsellor, or longer, if the problem is deep-rooted!.
You CAN get over this!.

Panic attacks are caused by a chemical imbalance!. You may actually be Claustrophobic!. you may not actually be having panic attacks either!. When you are having panic attacks you start thinking about bad things that are going to happen if you do not get out of the situation your in!. Go see a doctor!. avoid elevators, dont think about it when you are in meetings!.Try to think about you knowing that person like their your best friend!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I struggle to make eye contact aswell, I am quite shy so I think that is my problemWww@Answer-Health@Com

I don't want to mislead you, but I'd advise you to check into Asperger's Syndrome, AS, and aspie!. Two of the things you have described are occasional indicators of AS!. The eye contact thing is not universal, but probably about 70% of the time, and the panic feelings near two or more people is another!. If you get a feeling of tenseness just by going into a busy mall, say, at Xmas, or into a theatre that has a popular show, that would be another good indicator!. If you have heightened sensitivity in some of your senses, like noises which seem louder to you but don't bother others, or smells get to you way sooner, or you find you prefer a dark room or wearing sunglasses, even on a cloudy day, you are looking at even more factors at could indicate AS!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
