I have disturbing thoughts often?!

Question: I have disturbing thoughts often!?
I have really disturbing thoughts several times a week that make me upset!. I will be in class or just making something to eat and I have thoughts that play out in my head like a movie, such as my cat getting acid spilled in his eyes and going blind, or my best friend getting hit by a car and getting killed, or myself getting really ill, and it's totally out of the blue!. It usually makes me cry!. I don't know what it is, but it makes me feel really vulnerable and disturbed!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have yourself checked out by a mental health professional and/or an MD!. There could be several reasons for your symptoms, either physical or mental!.
Guessing games by unprofessionals on line is not the way to go, especially for your safety and stability!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

See a psychologist or other behavioral medical professional!.

I used to walk down stairs and see myself walking off the edge of a building quite often and another one of the big ones was people getting hit or hurt by different things!.

It's a fairly common problem and can be fixed easily with medicine to help the chemical imbalance!. Once your body figures out that it needs that chemical, it could start making it on it's own like I did!. I've been off those meds for over a year and havent had a flash since!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have read that getting disturbing thoughts like this out of the blue can be linked to OCD [Obsessibe-Compulsive Disorder!. Zgoogle it for more info]!. I think I have mild OCD, as I have some symptoms!.

I get very disturbing thoughts, too!. I have images of me sliding my fingertip accross the blads of a leg razor, slicing my fingertip, and the cut flaps of skin 'snagging' between the razors, blood everywhere!.
This one is pretty random, but I get the image of me rubbing a dry tissue or cotton ball/tip on my teeth, and me getting shivers!. I hate the feeling! It gives me the same feeling as what you'd get when you imagine fingernails down a chalkboard!. Eughh!.

Talking to a psychologist will help!. I have a psychologist that I see regularly, but I havent told her of my thoughts!.

sometimes you think those things because you you dont have better thing to do, and it's just a way of showing your emotions!. it is a very good thing that you cry because it shows that you are attached to it and you love it and dont want it to leave!. sometimes you just have to look at whats right in front of you and apprecaite it, and spend more time with your best friend and cat, and do stuff for yourself!. then you shouldent have those thoughts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sometimes I have thoughts similar to these!. I picture people I love dying in plane crashes or getting killed in car accidents!. However, it sounds like these images occur to you more often!. I think you should talk to your parents or a school counselor and see a doctor!. They might be able to give you some advice to help push these thoughts out of your head!. Good luck!! If the though makes you feel you have to do something (not necessarily bad things) or something bad will happen then you might have OCD!.
You best bet to getting your thoughts under control is to see a psychologist!. In the mean time trying to not think about these thoughts will only make you think about them more!.

Best of Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I get the same kind of thoughts some times, and I hate it!. I don't know why though!. I don't wish anything bad upon any body and any thing in this world, but yet still get these weird things in my head!. I hate it!. When I have it, I try to get distracted with something positive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YOu should talk to a doctor!. This sort of problem is usually associated with chemical problems in the brain!. It is really scary but you can probably make it go away!. Stay away from scary movies and tv shows until you get it checked out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it is normal but not healthy for any of us!. Sometimes I will have similar thoughts, maybe when under more stress than usual!.!.!.!.then they slow down or stop - then will have some more again!. As long as we don't act on the thoughts!. When one comes up, I just say "go away!.!.!.this isn't good"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you notice disturbing thoughts, or something negative, such as: "I'm never going to get over this!" or: "Why am I always so pathetic/useless/such a loser!?" or even: "I can't do this/will never get over this!", or a disturbing image, recognise that this is part of the mindset which will hold you back from making progress!. Having identified and labelled it, visualise, as vividly as possible a large red "STOP!" sign, and/or possibly a stern faced person wagging an index finger at you in a negative manner, then say to yourself as forcefully as you can, even aloud in a big voice, if alone: "I know this tactic: GO AWAY FOR A WHILE !!!"

You may want to use either: "ruse", "ploy", "game", or "trick", instead of "tactic"!. In the case of an image, or feeling, visualise a large "STOP" sign, or your preferred version!. Some people go so far as to keep a wide rubber band in their pocket, then put it around their wrist, when they catch themselves backsliding, stretch and release it, as a method of reprogramming their mind sooner, but I don't regard it as being strictly necessary!. Remember to remove it, afterwards, if you use this method!.

What your experiencing is nothing more than intrusive thoughts, if these become obsessions that you just can't get rid of it's a sign of obsessive compulsive disorder!. Everyone experiences these thoughts from time to time but they just write it off as a bad thought and not think too much on it!. Where a person with OCD traits will analyze everything they are feeling and wonder if they are a bad person or not!. It's hard i know cause i suffer from ocd and no matter how hard you try to get an obsession out of your head it just gets worse!. Just remember thoughts are no more than words in our head and images are no more than pictures in our head!. and are not an indication of how we really feel!. The fact that they make you cry makes you a very healthy person!. There's positive and negative in everything so just see the thoughts for what they are negative!. If it is a really big problem for you i suggest speaking to a psychologist as they can give you a lot of help and if need be a course of ssri (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) antidepressants can really help!.
