I am pretty sure I have social anxiety disorder, I have lost my friends because !

Question: I am pretty sure I have social anxiety disorder, I have lost my friends because of it, I need help!?
Im a senior right now and I don't have many friends and I'm not really in a group with people!. It used to be so different but when Sophomore summer started my group of friends that I was in since like 7th grade ditched me!. They didn't give a reason but I'm pretty sure it was because I was quiet!. What sucks is the weekend right before they ditched me I had the best weekend of my life!. Up until a few months ago I went through a stage that I just didn't care about almost anything, I wasn't depressed I just didn't care!. My grades suffered because of that during Junior year!. So basically how can I become more social around people I'm not comfortable with!? Like at school I can't think of anything to say when I'm around a big group of people!. Even if I'm with just a few people sometimes I can't think of anything!. Its like my brain shuts off lol!. When I'm around my brother or someone I'm fine with I'm really talkative though!.

Should I go to my doctor to get meds!? I don't want to become a zombie though lol!. What should I do!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You don't need a label!.!.!.and you don't need a doctor!.!.!.you just need to find some new friends!.

It was not you!.!.!.!.this is very typical because at that age there is huge peer pressure!.!.!.!.and all your friends usually do change!.

My suggestion is to join some things that are your interests!. A sport!?
A dance class!? Art!? A church (which is a really good suggestion because they work at helping new people find friends a be made welcome!.!.!.have youth activities, etc!.)!.!.!.!.!.don't try to do it however over the Internet because that is a false situation!.!.!.!.you need real people, real groups, real activities, in order to make new friends!.

Stop blaming this on yourself!.!.!.!.and go out and get involved where you will enjoy yourself!. There are teen clubs!.!.!.and your problem is you are worrying about yourself!.!.!.instead start thinking about others!.!.!.volunteer to help in places!.!.!.!.!.at a hospital!.!.!.!.at a disabled kids home!.!.!.etc!.!.!.!.you will find friends when you start being friendly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Social anxiety disorder is when you become anxious at certain situations!. Afriend of mine has it, and she cant eat or talk on the phone in front of people, she cant work, and she has a hard time making new friends!. When put into those situations, she has panic attacks!.
You can talk to your doc and see what he thinks, but im not sure if you have an anxiety problem!. You just sound a little shy =)

If you really want to fix your social anxiety problem, talk to a psychologist/psychotherapist!. First, have them diagnose you!. Do not self diagnose!. In the teen years, things often feel not so correct, it does not really mean that you have a psychological disorder!. If you are diagnosed, you should check with them about cognitive behavioral therapy!. It works great for all types of anxiety disorders!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1) try socializing more!. Get some crappy service industry job!. Join clubs, volunteer, etc!.

2) Get meds -- see if they make you a zombie or not!. Stop taking them if you don't like them!. I've never taken a depressant before but I don't think they make you a zombie!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

yeah!. I need help too!. I have been seeking the "professional answer/solution" to that for a long time!. Now I completely gave up, cause most people who gives advice (not that they have bad intention), they haven't lived in my shoes and it's very easy for everyone to come up with "right" answers!.!.!.such as "oh! don't worry too much", "try socializing more" etc!.!.!.

p!.s: if you ever get the "answer", please forward it to me !.!.lol Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, talk to your Dr!. It sounds as if you did go through depression last year - depression can show through many different symptoms to different people!. Loosing interest in things you once "liked to do" Sleep and appetite disburbances and also what you described as "I just didn't care and poor grades" - All signs of depression which needs to be diagnosed by a health care professional - you may now be suffering from anxiety - or what you consider as your "brain shutting down" may be a normal reaction to what is not normal or comfortable for you!. Counceling may be an option in your case to learn tools for socialization - oh, and medications are only used when they are needed (we pray) and hopefully the "zombie" type behavior is avoided by health care professionals through accurate dosing!.!.!.!.!.!. I wish you the best - I think your a normal kid, who experience a trama - you'll heal - just tell someone - you don't have to go through this fear alone!Www@Answer-Health@Com
