Answers:
Yes and no!. A person can have both a diagnosis of Schizophrenia (Axis I) and Antisocial Personality Disorder (Axis II)!. Antisocial Personality Disorder is the most commonly used diagnostic term to describe someone who is a psychopath!. The term "psychopath" is no longer a recognized mental health diagnosis and is not listed in the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders!.

In order to have both diagnoses, in addition to being Schizophrenic, the person would have to exhibit extreme character disorder and lack of empathy for others that cannot be explained by the schizophrenia diagnosis (for example, medication is not effective in eliminating the symptoms of antisocial behavior)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They are both legitimite titles!. Schizophrenia is a disease that can be diagnosed in anyone over the age of 18!. It takes 6 months of symptoms to diagnose it!. Psychopathy is when a person is insane basically and they usually are out to get someone!. I guess a person can be diagnosed as both!.!.!.but it'd have to be a very violent schizophrenic!. Psychopathy also develops over time, spawning off of some past abuse!. No one is quite sure what causes schizophrenia!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
