Question: Does cannabis cause long term paranoia!?
Im dating a guy that has smoked cannabis heavily for ten years - and most of the time he's a paranoid wreck!.
I have smoked weed before I met him on occasions but seen as though he always has cannabis with him I have taken to enjoying a few spliffs with him every night - harmless fun really!.
But just of late I have started to feel quite paranoid myself - and find myself saying the exact same paranoid stuff to my boyfriend that he has annoyed me with for months - questionning his love for me and generally being annoying!. I do not mean to be this way - and am shocked at the sudden change in feelings I have had - from feeling generally secure and happy to feeling nervous and worried about my boyfriends feelings for me!.
I was always the one to laugh at him and call him a paranoid freak - but it seems as if I am becomming another version of him!. A few people at work also made comments that I was 'paranoid' and always on edge!.
Im begginning to wonder whether or not the weed has anything to do with this!. If it has then I will cut down my intake as I do not want to damage my mental health!.
My father was an alcoholic and scizophrenic and had to see a psyciatrist for many years when I was young and also attempted suicide many times!. Im wondering whether mental health problems in parents have any sort of affect on the mental health of their children !? And if this makes you more susceptible to mental health problems yourself when you have parents who are this way!.

As an active member of NORML I can honestly tell you that cannabis is medically incapable of causing long term health risks other then asthma!.
What you are going through is a mixture of enviroment and genatics!. Mental illness commonly is a member of hereditary disorders!.
You also have been dating a insecure guy, he has created a paranoid insecure enviroment and you have been living in with him for months!.
Your predisposed to mental illness thanks to genatics and you are with a mentally ill man!. The cannabis didn't make him paranoid that is his personality!.

To be honest your family history is pretty rough and i reckon you wont have a good mindset when it comes to it being intoxicated on drugs!.
Some people get weird from smoking pot some people dont!.

Absolutely not!. The paranoia wears off as soon as the other effects of the THC wears off!. His long term issues need to be discussed with a therapist!. The drugs aren't likely a cause of his issues, but a symptom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Paranioa is a long term effect of drug and it effects dif people to different extents i would lay of it if i were u drugs can also lead to schizopherna ya there enjoyable but there are reasons there ilegalWww@Answer-Health@Com
