you should ask her if you can start tapering down the dosage, and see how it affects your mood so you can slowly learn to feel whats going on and be able to learn to control yourself voluntarily!. I took meds every day for 6 years and stopped and havent been on meds for 10 years now!. If you start having problems again, I would recommend going back to the full dosage for a while and trying again in the future!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Be honest with your doctor!. If he is an experienced practitioner he will take what you say into account!. I may not be a matter of not taking meds but finding the right ones!. This can be a difficult and frustrating process but once you find the right combination you can keep the best part of you and feel better!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you don't want to take them, just leave it!.!.!.

If you have been taking the meds for awhile now, you can not just quit taking them, you have to slowing back off them!. I think if your Psychiatrist will probably tell you the same thing and may offer you a different treatment or give other suggestions!. In all honesty if you have been taking the meds for awhile and they are not helping then you could try something else, but if you haven't given them enough time to work for you, then you may want to give it more time!. I have bipolar disorder and I take meds everyday and they make my life much better!. In the beginning I had to try different meds until I got the right combination!. All thru my Dr's recommendation!. And in the end it worked, but it took awhile!. If you are a minor you should talk to a parent before making any definite decisions!. And discuss it all with your Dr!. before you make a definite decision!. Good Luck!. It will all get better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stopping meds all of a sudden is not a good idea as your body is used to them now!. Hopefully your doctor will see where you are now, and help you find a way to change things!.
I understand about the meds changing you and wanting to get off them once and for all, 'cause I have been there!. Stopped taking my Ativan, and within two days I was in the ER with withdrawal symptoms! I was so sick! Now I'm back on it but a lesser dose, and I will continue to lower the dosage till I don't need it anymore!. I have done this with my doctor though, so please don't try to do anything on your own, and be truthful with the doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Let me start by saying everyone has some issue(s)! So don't feel too different from others!. Medication is really not meant to cure all the problems!. Instead, they attempt to stabilize certain things so that the person can have a bit of an advantage to working on the issues!. You admitted that the meds help!. It seems that the biggest reason for not taking them is because they make you different from others!. Would taking insulin or blood pressure medicine be different!?

Just talk with the psychiatrist, and he should be able to help!. Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
