Is it Depakote or Abilify that causes food cravings?!

Question: Is it Depakote or Abilify that causes food cravings!?
I have been taking Depakote for about 10 years for Bipolar and just started Abilify about 3 months ago!. Depakote has made me gain a modest amount of weight, but lately all I can think about is food!. Even when I'm not hungry!. I told my pdoc I'd like to to try something besides the Abilify!. He refused, claiming it is the Depakote!. Any opinions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The television commercial for Abilify says that your blood sugar levels could be messed up so it's important to monitor them, especially if you're pre-diabetic!. That could be the reason why you're craving food, especially if your blood sugar levels are increased more than normal and then fall suddenly!. It's important to get on a regular exercise regimen in order to control this more easily!. But, since you really know it's the Abilify that is doing this and you would like to try something different, it's important that your doctor listens to you and helps you figure out something different!. Try a different doctor instead because it's pretty serious if you're experiencing excessive hunger while taking Abilify!. Check out the website below (particularly the first paragraph) and show your doctor!. Don't be afraid to get in his face because it's very important that you maintain regular blood sugar levels while taking Abilify!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
