Do I need Adderall?!?!

Question: Do I need Adderall!?!!?
I know I can only get the real answer from a doctor, but I'm debating whether or not I should go and see one!. Is it that serious!?
I've always had a difficult time keeping focus, but it's only gotten worse in recent years!. I am a 19 year old female college junior!. I always try to study and I just begin doing other tasks to avoid studying, like cleaning my room!. I cant sit down and sit still long enough to do anything!! My mind is always running a million times a minute!. I have no depression issues, and no other medical or mental issues i am aware of except for Crohn's Disease!. Ever since I can remember, I have always been the last student in the class when taking tests, I do awful on standardized/ timed exams, and become increasing indecisive and anxious!. I need to be able to focus and I need to know if this stuff may be a solution!. I want to talk to my father about it, but god bless his soul, hes pretty old school, and you know how that goes!.He wants to think the world of me and that there's nothing that some good ole studying can't fix!. Also I heard you will lose weight, but I am skinny as it is so I want to avoid that!. What do you think!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey!. I'm glad you took the time to ask the question!. It takes courage to do something like that!.

I also want to let you know that you are O!.K!. for considering medication!. Considering medication doesn't mean that you have to take it!. You should also know that your next step of seeing a doctor is the right one!.

I would agree with the previous answer about checking out Crohn's disease medication side effects!. That can be a culprit!. Since you said it has been that way as long as you can remember, it's possible that you have ADD symptoms that the medication is aggravating or that you are becoming more aware of your ADD tendencies!.

I am diagnosed ADD/ADHD and take medication on the days when I need to really focus!. I have had to try a couple different medications to find one that worked for me!. This meant taking smaller doses (baby doses) since I am sensitive!. I have found that taking them for a month has helped me learn ways to just "buckle down and study" that I could not have learned before the medication!. Once I had those under my belt I could go for awhile without taking the medication!.

My parents are also pretty old-school and I have found that it is not something I discuss with them!. I only discuss with my doctor!. You should also make sure that your doctor who treats you for Crohn's is FULLY ON BOARD with ADHD diagnosis and any treatment that is reccomended by a psychiatrist or a psycho-pharmacologist!.

Good luck,
Shaun

if i were you, i would try to avoid any prescription medications!.!.!. side effects and all, not even mentioning how expensive they are!.!.!.!.

all that aside, i think you should try disciplining yourself to study!. don't ALLOW yourself to be distracted!. force yourself to pay attention!. after a while, i think it will become natural and you won't have to worry about being drugged up on anything!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

im not a dr!. but i have adhd and that sounds somewhat like it with the cant focus but i dont thing adderall is what you should have, sounds like more of anxiety!. but hey just tell your dad that if there is somthing that will help you not hurt you then there is no shame in that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My sister has Crohn's also!. I think one of the medications she was on awhile back caused her to have some unusual behavior patterns!.

I would read some of the side affects to the medication your on!. Then decide what you want to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
