Banter or bullying at work?!

Question: Banter or bullying at work!?
I work a manual labour job!.

Recently one of my colleagues has constantly been calling me 'gay'and 'weird'!. I am not gay!. Im up for a joke like anyone, but not when it becomes constant and with pointed remarks!.SOme remarks are close to the bone also!. I have been off work for some time with depression and returned to work after three years, and this is making it harder!. I can understand that I am a little different to this other guy, but he is, shall we say, poorly educated and at times arrogant!. I am more intelligent and like art and unfortunatley am in kinda the wrong environment in some respects, unilI buildmy confidence up!.I HAVE started to apply for better jobs now,six months down the line!.I want to try and get aong but he cannot!.

Am I taking this all too seriously!? I cannot talk to the manager about this as he does not have the skills to deal with this and the place does not have such policies!.

You already know that he is ignorant so don't let him get to you!. Maybe you are in this situation to become stronger for what comes next when you get that better job which will be more challenging (in other ways but more intellectually so all the same)!. So try develop a thicker skin - you can still be the same art loving sensitive person inside!. You can silently feel sorry for him as it sounds like his ignorance will keep him in his little box for the rest of his sad narrow minded life!. And make sure when you are not at work you don't think of it at all - otherwise it will wear you down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take the complaint to your immediate supervisor, if he or she does nothing then you can sue the company!. This would allow you to quit and collect unemployment until you found a new job!. This is racial profiling and if not a policy you can start one!.
This is a legal reason to quit!. Or for him to be fired!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I believe this to be subtle bullying and it's not something you should have to put up with, unfortunately it can and does happen in the workplace!. If you can just stick it out for the time being, keep looking for other work though!.

Take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, if you were my son i would consider that what you describe as bullying!. The obvious reason that comes to my mind is he is a bit jealous that you have had more education etc!.
It is very easy to say either ignore it or leave but is is not that easy, nor is sorting it out which i feel would make it even worse for you if anyone tried!.
Apply for better jobs that are more worthy of your status, and i mean no disrespect to anyone by saying that!. Sometimes people in the workplace can be a fish out of water, if you leave you will be more unlikely to get a job!. The only advice i can give is go on until you get a job, can you not find temporary christmas work in say a shop for a bit, then hopefully something else will come along that will give you a few months breathing space!.
Try Boots or Woolworth's for the Christmas season i know they are taking on at the moment, then once you are in somewhere you could apply for a managerial or higher post perhaps !?
If any future employer was to learn you had taken any action they would be reluctant to employ you as they would see you as a troublemakerWww@Answer-Health@Com
