Am i depressed at 14 ?!

Question: Am i depressed at 14 !?
recently, my brothers close friend died in a tragic car crash,
and i had to tell my brother the sad news,
and he broke down on the phone to me asking me to tell me it wasn't true and that his still alive,
and being 14 telling your 17 year old brother isn't easy,
i didn't know the boy sadly ,but am close with his younger brother!.
and i keep hearing my brothers voice in my head from when he was crying, and i keep remembering the feeling i got when i heard him in this state!.

i also broke up with a boyfriend and took it pretty bad seeing as this happened the day before the funeral!.

and its been noticeable that my behaviour has became really bad and im finding everything hard , and i cant motivate myself!.

i feel like im going mad, what can i do !? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like you have been having a hard time of it!. Telling your brother about his friend was an incredibly brave thing to do and you must not feel bad about having to do that, he had to know from somebody and it is not your fault that you had to be the one who had to tell him!. It must have been a big shock to you all but I am sure your brothers friend would not want you or him to be depressed!. Don't focus on the accident!. You are dealing with a lot of emotion and it is normal to feel sad and down, it is a big shock but over time you will come to terms with things!. It is a sad fact that death is a certainty in all of our lives, but it is never an easy thing to accept!. The effect it has on the people around it is huge and you should talk to someone to help you understand the way you feel!.

You are not going mad! You are completely normal and incredibly brave so stop beating yourself up!. Look at the good things in life, take a deep breath and do something to cheer yourself up!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Kitty has a point IN ONLY ONE WAY, and that is!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.don't think that something is wrong with you!.

You're going through severe depression, ALL people have different ways to coping with death(even if you don't know them) especially if this is THE FIRST time they had to deal with death(or breaking the bad news)!. Talk with your parents, or your brother, because severe depression can result in something tragic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Life often deals a very poor hand that people of any age find it difficult to cope with!. It is doubly difficult in people as young as you who often have fewer reserves to fall back on!. What you are describing is what is called reactive or situational depression rather than biochemical endogenous depression!.

This type of condition responds far better to therapy or counselling than medication!. have a chat with your GP who may be able to arrange this help for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you feel you're depressed, which you might be in the early stages of depression, then you should definitely go to someone!. It is best to get this controlled at an early age so when you become older and as life gets harder, you will be able to manage your depression and live a completely normal life!. try meditation!. it'll help clear your head!. concentrate on your breathing while tightening and relaxing every muscle one at a time!. get your brother in on it too, as it sounds like he could use it!. plus the quality time with your brother will help you both cope with your loss!.

You very well may be having some depression!. That was a really traumatic experience for you!. Talk to your parents about this, or a school counselor!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

i dont think your depressed as such because its happneed so suddenly and something has triggered it
you sound under a lot of stress and upset, try talkin to a counsellor at school or a grievence counsellorWww@Answer-Health@Com

yes of course, you are only 14 and its alot to take on! speak to someone about it, someone who did not know your brothers friend would be best!.

by the way love your name india, thats my daughters name :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

you sound very responsible for your age, when you care about someone its hard to watch them suffer, it only hurts if you care, you do, so be proud of the type of young lady your becoming, you have had a couple of upsets in recent times, so try to work through it, you have recognised your own behaviour which shows what a good person you really are, so cut yourself some slack and just keep developing that caring side! i have two teens myself and am proud of them as they display your caring nature, good luck to you and be you, that's a good thing in this case!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well it is normal to feel that way, but if you feel like you need to talk to someone you should see a health care professional!. Dealing with death isn't easy, and seeing your brother go through something so hard at such a young age is difficult!. There are friends and family members you can talk to, and you can talk to people here on YA if you need advice from those who have gone through similar situations!.

I am 22 and have dealt with death several times before, including someone I went to school with!. It is very difficult and if you feel you would like to talk, and don't have anyone at home to talk to, feel free to email or IM me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

everyone feels like this!. just deal with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
