Are panic attacks a treatable problem?!

Question: Are panic attacks a treatable problem!?
I have had about 5 panic attacks since Christmas!. The first one I had was when I was on holiday and we had walked far out to look at some coral and the tide starting coming in, I also had one after I had to leave the cinema because the film I was seeing was freaking me out to much, but recently there have been less obvious reasons, I had one of Duke of Ed last weekend and was sent home, and have now had to drop out as I'm scared it will happen again!. Is there any treatment and is it worth talking to my doc about it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to!.!.!.!.

I aslo suffer from panic attacks, - a few years ago my doc gave me beater blocker tablets!. The tablets dont stop you from having an attack, but they make them easier to deal with, as they calm you down a little - make the heart beat at the pace its ment to!.

I gave the tablets up as I felt I was depending on them too much - I asked the doc for advise, she gave me a few books to read, they were all about breathing tecs and how to calm yourself down!.

What works for me is excersise, I excersise on a regular basis and do belive this has helped a lot!.

Good luck! xxWww@Answer-Health@Com
